Joe Ingles contract becomes horrendous

And, I know this is probably taboo to do for DL, the Jazz can go back on Joe's contract. Nothing has been officially signed, the NBA is still in moratorium.

I doubt the Jazz do that, but it's a thought.

Screw that. I'll take $13 million a year for a guy that's going to give me everything he has, be a team leader and LOVES being in Utah. I'm past the Hayward drama. JJ, Jingles, Hood, Burks and Mitchell can all hold down the 2/3 spots this year. Maybe somebody surprises us. Jazz need a glue guy more than ever now.

If he calls Hayward a c-word in the next couple days his contract will be totally worth it.

As long as he doesn't do the thing a lot of players do when they get their last big contract and just start sucking ***, the contract is fine.

Still, no way in hell would I have signed him knowing Hayward wasn't coming back. But I'm also loudly calling for... umm... a "youth movement".

Joe Ingles will straight cut fools. I need him to unfriend Hayward or at least fake like he's pissed.

Contract is still fair and an asset imo. Snell got a little less and he's basically worse at everything.

People have never believed in Ingles and thought he was a joke. He will prove you all wrong again. I could see Joe being the guy to take Draymond out of the series by getting under his skin and causing him to do something stupid.

Great locker room guy, 4th in the entire NBA in 3 point percentage at 44% last year, above average passer, solid rebounder, and perhaps our 2nd best defender next to Rudy last year.

Yeah, his contract is far from bad.

This. His floor is our 6th man. $13M ain't bad. Has the OP seen what others are getting this summer?

I never comment but this forum is getting ridiculous.

You know what are horrible contracts? Deng and Mozgov's contracts. Signing a major piece of your team for maybe $2 extra millions is not a BAD contract.

As a comparison, Tony Snell got 4 year $46 million ($10.5 m/year). Patty Mills got 4 year $50 million ($12.5m/year). Soloman Hill got 4 year $48 Million last year ($12 m/year). Taj Gibson got 2 year $28 million ($14 m/year).

For a key reserve (6th man) i think Joe got paid what he deserved, albeit a little more than expected.

Yeah, I wasn't advocating for it, just pointing out it's a possibility.

So nothing can be signed yet right? Could ingles decide not to sign now that Hayward is leaving?

Jingles loves it here. He's exactly the kind of guy the Jazz need in these meetings moving forward. I'm really happy he's back.

Jingles role will be even bigger now that GH is gone. I can't imagine he'll walk away from this opportunity and this coaching staff that uses him so well. That would be crazy dumb on his part.

But you didn't answer my question.

Could be choose to go elswhere if he wanted too?
