Josh smith on the block

If it's just AK and no picks I would consider it. But probably still not. Hell, for what the Jazz are losing in future costs on the deal, they might be able to be getting picks (assuming Cleveland and Toronto don't jump in to take him outright in such a desperate move). I guess it just depends on the market for the Hawks and what they determine is sufficient or best, but from the Jazz perspective it's not a home run.

jazz fans are stupid. Why wouldnt you want a shot blocking machine. He can play the 3 or the 4. Frontline of smith,millsap/jefferson, okur. Jazz missing a shot blocker plus a wing that dwill can toss the lob up to for the flush

Somebody is going to have to share the Kirilenko PCP because I can't see any reason not to do this, unless Josh Smith is making 12 million a year for the next five years. Even so, that is a huge upgrade in being able to match someone up with Odom, who I think is our biggest problem with the Lakers.

If you like 3's that can't shoot from the perimeter, at all, then sure he can play the 3.

I also like J Smoove, but he's what AK "should have been"? I don't think so.
They have similar skillsets, Smith is younger, but I think AK is a better basketball player.
If we matchup Smith on the perimeter, his blocks would likely go down.

And when the Jazz face the Lakers in the playoffs, I hope AK guards Odom all the time.

Smith is a high volume chucker that needs at least 20 shots a game to be effective. Who on the Jazz is going to give up shots to satisfy Smith?

Smith is an incredible athlete and at least once a game he makes you say, "Oooh!" with an incredible block or dunk but that's about as deep as he gets. I pass on Smith and I pass with no hesitation.

That's interesting considering he's never averaged even 14 shots per game in his career.

Good work there though.

I change my mind, actually. It would be hilarious to go and acquire - in the same year - the two guys the Jazz passed on in '04.
