What's new

Kaep

The dude has already made it clear what would stop his demonstration, and he didn't say it was pressure from the police to try and get the football team to reprimand him.

If one wants him to stop demonstrating then he/she should create a positive change. It's, like, mutually beneficial.

Pretty sure this isn't constitutional. Pretty sure officers cannot use their position to stifle free speech. How many days before a lawsuit is filed? My guess is not many.

Isn't it at least a little bit ironic that this argument is being made by the same crowd that says, "No wonder the press hates Trump. Look at how he treats them."

Not even the least bit Joe. This is like the president deciding he'll just pout and stay home because Fox News is mean to him.

Yeah, that's beyond stupid.

One dude insults the police force because he doesn't like how some police officers perform their job. The police quit. That's some major league butthurt.

It also in no way helps alleviate the issues that are the basis for Kaepernick's protest. In fact, it does the exact opposite.

Wider issue dude. You people can be so basic at times.

Maybe the police force is tired of being under constant fire FOR DOING THERE JOBS an this is an opportunistic time to demonstrate. What, police are not people an cannot demonstrate to? Every one else has the right but police do not?

That is just dumb.

Good on em? Are you kidding me? Just because 1 football player expresses his opinion the police are going to be like "Well **** everyone at this football game we arent going to help anyone because our feelings are hurt". Dumbest **** I have ever read in my life. Cops are, in general, dumb as **** and this only proves that point further.

Yeah, that's beyond stupid.

What a petty and childish reaction by the police. 1 guy insults cops, so **** the general public now cuz our feelings are hurt. Calling all cops pigs is ignorant, no doubt, but supporting this kind of decision is no less ignorant.

Just do your ****ing job. This isn't a police state. People can say whatever they want about you. Disagree with them, speak your mind, but do your job.

Only minorities an not Christians have the right to peacefully protest according to jazzfans. **** the police an whites an Christians.

I see this thread has ben Borised.

Look, Football players are supposed to be stupid. They got concussions and stuff. Leave them alone. Basketball is the game of brains.

These are off duty officers they have the same right as Kaep to stand up for what they do.

Cops are extremely under appreciated, these guys are literally putting their life on the line for $20 an hour and get zero respect from most people.

The police should be held to a higher standard. They are after all charged to serve and protect. Whether this station is guilty of police brutality or racism or not they surely realize that these things are going on in other stations all over the country, and instead of trying be part of the solution they are adding to the problem and making Kaep's point.

They missed an oppertunity to be proactive in being a part of the solution like the military vet that was invited to the 49ers sideline at the preseason game after talking about the issues with Kaep about the issues and the way he chooses to protest. The two men were able to find common ground and respect in one another. This police station on the other hand has decided to stand with every dirty cop or force that have oppressed minorities which is a very real thing in this country. They are essentially turning their backs to the people they gave an oath to protect.

Cops can just quit their jobs if they're that butthurt. I don't think anyone has an issue with that. But failing to do a job they're paid to do and have sworn to do is nonsensical, yeah.

If they're personally butthurt by this, which would be pretty dumb since it's clearly an institutional/systemic thing at blame, then he/she can quit. There are other people that would do the job no matter how little 'respect' they feel they are getting.

Cops at these sporting events are off duty, it's not their sworn duty. I understand both sides arguments here, we would be better off if we could all communicate our differences rather than fighting each other about them.

There have been a number of posters on this site plus many political analysts who have said that it's no surprise that Trump gets slammed in the media because look how he treats them. To me it's a reasonable argument because when someone slams another person it's pretty typical to hit back.

So I was just pointing out that many people apparently aren't applying the same logic to cop hating. I guess some people believe you should be free slam the integrity of police officers and if they react it's proof that they deserve to be slammed.

I guess I somehow missed the part where the president accepts the numerous invitations from Fox News to appear on their network.

It's not his job to appear on their network. The cops refusing to do their job because someone is protesting is absurd and anti-American. The difficulty of their job is irrelevant to the discussion. People are allowed to freely protest regardless of whether you agree or disagree with them. Cops are not allowed to choose which citizens they'll serve.

Most of the time cops from other communities working these sorts of events are off duty. I'm pretty sure they have no responsibility to work them, just like Obama has no responsibility to go on Fox News.

I could find dozens of clips of Obama complaining about Fox News yet nobody that I'm aware of is up in arms about it. To me his complaints seems quite parallel to the complaints of these cops.

You're being completely irrational right now. The Fox News thing is apples to oranges. Fox News is a private entity that is unrelated to Obama or the government in any shape or form. You might as well be complaining about him not attending your BBQ. There is no parallel whatsoever. Why you can't see that is beyond me.

Cops have a job to do. Whether that job is to protect anti-cops protesters or Westboro Baptist Church picketers is immaterial. They don't get to choose. They are welcome to refuse attending any private events by any NFL player as citizens, but if they're summoned to do a job, then get the **** there or get the **** out.

Nicely done. You brought up Obama and Fox News, not me. Now you've decided to ignore the fact that the police who expressed their opinion have no more obligation to work 49ers games than Obama has to go on Fox.

I haven't yet seen any examples of police refusing to work any events that they are required to. In my opinion putting on a uniform does not mean they have to sit there with their mouths shut while Kaep ****s on them. You apparently believe they did something to deserve it. I do not.
