Kanter- Between the Legs Dunk

Contrary to some other professions, Jumping ability does have an effect on a basketball player's performance.

Kanter can get along just fine without any jumping ability.
Why do you think he uses his strength so much in the first place?

Some of the greatest big men of all-time could barely jump.
Does anyone remember Patrick Ewing?

There is two major differences. Scola is great pick and roll and pick and pop player. Kanter is one of the worst in that regard I have ever seen. He would need to do a lot to master that aspect of the game.

Interesting how you compare a 30 year old to a teenager, when comparing pick and roll skills.

Someone invent a prog that makes embedding video easy for all who would like to embed. With all the programmers out there this still isn't happening.

I'd guess Ewing had about 3-4 inches in max reach on Kanter and sadly, may have had better in-game vert than Enes. Even with his awful knees.

I've never posted a video before, but since you offered rep I'll try. Everyone will probably blast me for doing it wrong.

I meant to embed the Kanter video I posted like you did right there instead of having to link out and watch it.
I've only gotten the [VIDEO] code to work with youtube videos.

Rep for misunderstanding me though. Actually, I have to spread some rep.

In the brief moment Kanter is in the air, I'm reminded of the hovercraft from Rumble in the Bronx

Scola? Not at all.

Kanter should model his game after Marc Gasol and Nikola Pekovic, both extremely useful NBA starters. Kanter has a better physical profile than either of those guys as well IMO (needs to figure out how to use his seemingly soft hands to develop Pek's baby hook and Gasol's mid-range game).

You might wanna count the perspective of the video and Kanter's drive on this one.

You see, this is where he lifts:

And this is where he dunks:

As you see, he jumped forward more than upwards, and if we think the court as a map, he jumped towards northeast way more than east only which makes the distance he travelled in the air harder to realize when watching this video in full motion. But that doesn't mean he's a jumper. We know what he's capable of, we've watched him for an entire year. Maybe he shows growth in that in time.

Kanter is Luis Scola.
Scola has better skillz,
Kanter has bad, very baaad hands!
I donno whether EK is a new Scola,
but he is for sure a clown!

He skips the Turkish NT to "train" and to do such idiotic gimmicks?
He desperately needs PT and he keeps on being the gym-rat he is! (which is fine but he has to take the next step and promote to the role of " the consistent contributor on the court")

^^^^
How much PT was he going to get with the Turkish NT? We know it's generally based on experience and you have to "pay your dues." I'm guessing he'd get less court time than he did behind Jefferson last season. I know this is like unto treason in Turkey, but he's much better off practicing his post moves and working out in the US than riding the pine in Turkey.

this year vets have not been invited to the NT, except a PG and C Semih Erden, whom Kanter would have started along with.
He would have def. started and played "at least" 25 minutes a game (this is sheer speculation, but it is clear he would be one of the starz of "this" NT)

What better physical profile Kanter has compared to Pekovic? Pekovic is stronger and bigger, they both can't jump, what is it? Is he faster? better standing reach? wingspan? Just curious what you mean?

T'Wolves homer.

Funny.

When we first drafted Enes we got inundated with Turkish posters that were total homers. Then he skips out on the Turkish nat'l team and we get the band of Turkish Enes haters.

That's exactly what I thought the other day. Pretty hilarious.

Can KOC prohibit Enes from joining the Turkish team under the grounds that KOC wants him working on specific stuff?

ROFL. I just asked question as to me it looks like is overrating Kanter or he has no clue about Gasol's and Pekovic's physical data. I could see Kanter possible having better motor then M.Gasol, but physical profile? Gasol is taller and heavier, has better standing reach then Kanter and longer wingspan, WTF he is talking about?
So to me statement that Kanter has better physical profile then Pekovic and Gasol is absurd and there is no homerism involved.. Prove me wrong please.
