Same story will be in the free agency this summer...we have a lot of money to spend....but which talented player will accept to play for the Jazz? Let's stop to deceive ourselves!

That's seriously wrong. It's been well documented that practically every time the Jazz have had money to spend under the cap they have been able to get quality players to sign with them.

We have 4 chances to win this trade. If either of the prospects become good rotation players, if we sign a good free agent this offseason, or if we nail the first rounder. Sounds a lot better than keeping kanter and praying he learns how to pass shoot and play defense and is fine coming of the bench etc.

Well, since you put it that way. I'm still disappointed Utah didn't get more, but I'm past the anger stage and am now in acceptance mode.

Get a starting quality player in the draft (even if he doesn't start right away), and sign a couple of Booker-like players in the $5-$7M range.
 
The Kanter trade doesn't even show up on the ESPN NBA Page...every other trade that went down today shows up except for ours. Nobody cares...LOL.

Probably because the bigger name in the deal was Jackson. Goes to show how much people think about Kanter.

Yes overpaying role players that don't have big market or players that wanted to revive their career....

Jazz always relied heavily on the draft.

Jazz would have traded Boozer for ANYTHING except another long-term contract. No other team has EVER let a player visit city after city while still under contract. I'm pretty confident nothing of consequence was offered for Carlos.

Jazz don't expect Grant Jerrett to be available tomorrow. Players still have to report and pass physicals.

On Jerrett: We like shooting bigs & the spacing that provides. We’re going to work really hard to develop him to the best of our abilities.

Carlos Boozer and Memo Okur say hello. So do Big AL and Matt Harpring (trades).

Raja Bell, Mo Williams (2nd time), Randy Foye, Derek Fisher, Giricek...many, many major pieces who weren't draft picks.

I do maintain, however, that the BEST way to build a team is via the draft. FA's are often overpaid, sometimes significantly.

I'd add putting Gobert into the starting lineup and have core players that seem to fit in synder's system is also a win. I just didn't see Kanter fitting in with what we want to do. Hayward-Favors-Gobert is the future. Now to get Russell...

It's true... We need to see if that will work long term. We removed one road block to doing that.

We have not had many years where we had cap space and were actively looking to be buyers. That was really the only year we ve had cap space and were actually looking to acquire talent. The other time we signed Terry and a aggregate but it got matched. Players will come here.
