I have no problem with people disagreeing with me.
You got sick of reading posts that ran counter to your opinion, and responded with personal attacks. Can you point out where I did that in this thread?
Ok, I think we have heard enough about how we hate each other. I also should say something about what you mentioned earlier about people not stating opinions in the future after being wrong in the past. Totally agree with you that being wrong should not preclude one from having opinions and thinking in the future.
Here is my take on the trade today, and why I disagree with you on what we got:
The Jazz put a lot of time into developing kanter, and it didn't work out. Kanter had potential, but he was taken in what has turned out to be a pretty bad draft. Could they have traded him sooner, like say a year or two ago? Yes they could have, but I think they were holding out hope that he would actually start trying on defense, and stop acting like a child.
Considering that they tried to maximize kanters contribution to the team, and it didn't work out, I think they actually got a pretty decent return on the trade. The main problem is that they picked the wrong guy when they drafted him.
As for the Novak thing, I think it was not a bad move. They got an assett. They maybe got two second round picks. You said you think they had to take less in return in order to get rid of Novak. I guess the only way to tell is if okc actually keeps him and he becomes a part of their rotation.
I'm interested in seeing how this pliess guy turns out, and what we actually get from the draft pick. That's another point though, that draft pick could be a good get. If we are good in 2018, and are capped out, then having a decent player on a rookie contract could be very helpful to a playoff team.
