Kanter traded to OKC

Maybe he could have kicked the can down the road like he did with this trade, and acquired some picks several years down the road. Of course, maybe that wasn't available. I don;t know. What I do know is that he got very little for a now two-time all-star, a fringe all-star, and a decent young controllable (RFA) player (and Carroll).
I agree that he got very little for them. I think that it could be for the best though

Credit to Greg Miller, whose awesome.

OKC didn't wanna even dip into luxury tax to pick up Pleiss this year. Dennis puts his job on the line regularly by asking Greg to ramp up spending in non-mandatory areas, and Greg has the faith in DL to do it

I think we underestimate how hard it is to be good in this league. We were spoiled with Sloan and annual playoff appearances. I mean I was happy that we went to a rebuild I thought it was our only chance to actually win the big one. Well it's been half a decade and we don't even have a top 20 player in the league. Let alone a superstar who can lead us to a championship. At best we have a guy who can be a defensive anchor on a championship team.
I'm not complaining or anything. I'm just saying that I underestimated how hard it would be to get back to the top half of the conference. At this point I would gladly go back to being what we were before.

Definitely like b_line, just always skeptical when the troll crew comes out of the woodworks with obvious targeting of serious posters.

I get this. But my problem is every time I read s post of gvc all I see is: "I hate the way dennis Lindsay runs this team and I refuse to see any move he makes objectively"

That is my agenda. I did not contact any other posters about this. I am not part of a troll crew. I have had a problem with gvc being a dick since I ioined the board. He is a smart dude, but if anyone disagrees with him, he feels the need to belittle them and act like he is part of an elite smart crew. Whatever. Usually I don't care, but today I thought the trade made some sense because kanter sucks balls, and we actually got something for him. I read like ten of gvc's posts and got sick of it. That's all.

Weird everytime I pop on the site I see the same thing in the feed. B line saying GVC hates DL, GVC hating Bline. Like the past 3 hours or so. You guys have endurance.

I have no problem with people disagreeing with me.

You got sick of reading posts that ran counter to your opinion, and responded with personal attacks. Can you point out where I did that in this thread?

I hate fishdicks

Maybe he could have kicked the can down the road like he did with this trade, and acquired some future picks. Of course, maybe that wasn't available. I don't know. DL wasn't responsible for losing Millsap, Al, and Carroll.

That's on KOC

You really think Dennis came in and was calling shots right from the start?

I was kind of hoping Kanter would be traded to the Knicks or Lakers so he could be on an even worse team and suck, but now he gets to play with some great players..

1) Gobert > GF
2) it's a high-stakes roll when you're asking your small-market owner to shell out 2 million dollars for a ****ing 27th pick. Drop the Contrarian-BS and give credit where it's due. It was balls-to-the-wall, and he ****ing nailed it like the stud he is.

Agree to disagree

1) Gameface >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Gobert
2)a. Weak. Investments are.
2)b. Even weaker. You know I credit the Jazz for landing Gobert; low blow. I also know you know how weak your line was about him drafting Gobert while his only miss was Giannis.

Ok, I think we have heard enough about how we hate each other. I also should say something about what you mentioned earlier about people not stating opinions in the future after being wrong in the past. Totally agree with you that being wrong should not preclude one from having opinions and thinking in the future.

Here is my take on the trade today, and why I disagree with you on what we got:

The Jazz put a lot of time into developing kanter, and it didn't work out. Kanter had potential, but he was taken in what has turned out to be a pretty bad draft. Could they have traded him sooner, like say a year or two ago? Yes they could have, but I think they were holding out hope that he would actually start trying on defense, and stop acting like a child.

Considering that they tried to maximize kanters contribution to the team, and it didn't work out, I think they actually got a pretty decent return on the trade. The main problem is that they picked the wrong guy when they drafted him.

As for the Novak thing, I think it was not a bad move. They got an assett. They maybe got two second round picks. You said you think they had to take less in return in order to get rid of Novak. I guess the only way to tell is if okc actually keeps him and he becomes a part of their rotation.

I'm interested in seeing how this pliess guy turns out, and what we actually get from the draft pick. That's another point though, that draft pick could be a good get. If we are good in 2018, and are capped out, then having a decent player on a rookie contract could be very helpful to a playoff team.
