I don't think bringing in a rookie point guard is the answer, unless it's a Kyrie Irving type talent that you're not going to have to wait a few years to develop. The Jazz need to set caution to the wind and try to land a big name guard, the answer of which could only be Rondo. Curry is a step up from Harris, but Rondo is like 5 steps up. Some days he makes you wonder if he's the best pure point in the game.
There's no question the Jazz have the assets to bring in Rajon Rondo. The real question is how would Rondo react to such a situation. While some question his attitude, I for one think he wouldn't mind playing in a smaller market. Rajon Rondo seems like the anti-star of the NBA. He often regards hype and media with a certain aloofness that suggests he either doesn't realize just how good of a player he is, or he knows he's good and doesn't really care about the media attention. On top of that, while other NBA stars are texting each other at will, lobbying each other behind the scenes, Rondo seems like an NBA outcast. Dwight Howard and Chris Paul want to play together, Howard and Williams want to play together, Kobe and Paul, Howard and Rose, the list goes on and on, but who wants to play with Rondo? The guy has had well documented run-ins with his current big three, so why should we think that he's pining away to join some other big three?
Long story short, Rondo may be one of those rare players who really doesn't care where he plays, just so long as he has a chance to compete and explore his game.
