KOC Appreciation Thread

Great job by KOC, rebuilding on the fly again, just like he did in 04. As I stated in another thread, the Jazz also don't have any contracts that extend beyond the 2013 offseason, so KOC will have plenty of flexibility to add and drop pieces as he sees fit (based on performance, fit, etc.).

I never thought the day would come. +1.

I would've felt better if he simply just made an offer to Matthews and had given him the chance to refuse. With Korver, I think he may have made a deal with the Bulls ahead of time, that they wanted Korver, so the Jazz wouldn't make him an offer for future considerations which turned out to be the TPE, because as we all know, Korver was very open about his desire to stay in Utah.

You've created 2 threads now to vent this crap. Please, take it elsewhere.

Great post and a very good point.

I love KOC! now..... I have been bashing the front office for years for not realizing Okur and Boozer do not work. And I still think that was correct. But KOC came through and he was patient and found the right deal.
I love Raja Bell
And I love Al Jefferson. And I think Okur's injury is a blessing in disguise. He will be a better player for us off the bench. And he won't be starting this year. I promise you that. Okur will take so long to come back fully that Sloan won't want to ruin chemistry.
We are a tough team now. I never thought i would say that. We are longer too.
I even loved that we got rid of Koufos. It was a log jam and we saved money. Fesenko will play more hopefully.

So, what's the over/under on when 1/3 of this board panics after a loss, and jumps on the write4u I hate KOC bandwagon?

I'm thinking somewheres around Dec. 1st.

LOL. I think that 1/5th of them are already there because of Mathews. Soo more like October 1st.

I think we give the FO way to much grief. If you spend time reading blogs and chats they are always talking about "blowing up teams" and "starting over". UT gets to avoid that once again. Seriously, KOC has to be the envy of over half the league. Putting a great team out there year after year. Not to mention avoiding the head cases most of the time. They put a great product out there that's fun to root for. Way to go KOC!

Its the same with Sloan... half of Jazz fans think he is the root of all problems, while 90% of NBA fans (see: not Jazz fans) are in awe of him.

That's especially true of Sloan. Short of the Spurs and Lakers, I think fans from pretty much all the other teams would love to have him.

Props to the front office for being in control of their destiny and having a plan. They know what they want. They drafted a player they want. They let Boozer go, but replaced him with the best option available. They let Matthews go, but replaced him with a good substitute for the back-up SG role. They're managing the cap well. All of these are decisive moves that make sense. The team is taking shape. They have an open seat for Ante Tomic as the center of the future. Definitely in play for the WCF.

KOC is so appreciated, that I named myself after him. Great job this year (so far).

You spelled "refrigerator" wrong in your Location.

KFAN is talking about people thinking the Jazz are "sitting on their hands" just because they are not thrown all around the news stories during free agency. I think they handle things a lot differently than other teams do. The teams that are constantly mentioned are usually the ones with the GM's/ owners that have huge ego's- ie. Portland.

I took issue with Locke and Gerrard's little circle jerk the other day when they started blasting the "5% vocal minority" who was frustrated and wondering why the Jazz aren't doing anything. Then I remembered hearing Deron Williams at the trade deadline question the Brewer trade and how all the other teams were getting better and the Jazz gave away a rotation player. Then Williams this past week said that it was frustrating watching the other teams do things while the Jazz were losing Boozer and Korver, but he would see what happens even though the team usually doesn't do much. Williams is apparently a Five Percenter.
