What's new

Life - official thread

What is most likely happening is that your tooth has a crack in it. When you bite down on it just right, it flexes the crack, which causes pain. Do you have a large filling in the tooth?

Dentists are interesting folk. Here in Utah, dentists diagnose everything under the sun. I've never seen so much ****ty work done on teeth that you could argue didn't even need any work in the first place. There is one guy in Utah that would root canal every tooth that had a large filling in it. His argument was, "well, it will probably need a root canal in the future so might as well do it now." I kid you not. In the northwest...I'm embarrassed to call myself a dentist up there, their work is so beautiful. Their **** lasts forever.

Anyways, back to the crack. You are overseas, correct? Here in the US, we'd run a tooth sleuth test and if we could find the crack and/or replicate the symptoms, we'd most likely do a crown. I do know that dentists are a lot more conservative overseas than here in the US.

Hey man, thank you for that. I can't tell if it has a filling in it, as it stands I can't see any, but I have a feeling there may have been one put in a long time ago? There certainly isn't a 'large' filling that I can see.

So if there is a crack is that a serious thing? Why didn't the x-ray pick that up or could it have missed it? What could have caused it? What is a crown? Is it as serious/expensive as getting a root canal?

Thanks again Green.

Edit: I just had another closer look and it looks like there are some white/tooth coloured filling, but very small/minimal though.

Green, I need to get my teeth cleaned and examined. What's your office name? Do you take clients right now?

One of a couple things could happen. If it is a fracture, eventually the fracture will grow and the tooth will break. Depending on how it breaks, you could need a crown, a root canal and a crown, or if it breaks down into the bone, you could lose the tooth.

I know that sounds scary. It's what we American Dr's do. We scare you into paying us. lol.

I'd ask your dentist about it, consider doing the crown now, or at the very least, find the fracture, record it's size, and then when you go in every six months, keep an eye on it, and if it grows, do the crown.

Thanks man, I'll definitely raise this up with the dentist next time I go in for my check up.

Do you know what could have caused the cracked tooth? Is it normal? Or rare?

Green seems to know his ****. I can't say he doesn't. But they don't call me Mantooth for nothin'. Listen, the cause of this issue sounds pretty obvious to me, knowing you for years now on the board, your tendencies, your likes, how you like to gravitate, circles you hang in, and so forth. So anyway, I was saying, I think I know what caused the crack in your tooth. Based on all the evidence at hand and knowing you deeply as a person, I can only reasonably conclude that you closed down too strongly on some sort of a hard rod. Something that would was both big enough and hard enough to inflict such damage.

So Kinkkkkkkkkkk, when was the last time you took manmeat in your mouth?

It's either one of two things, Cancer or AIDS

I think OL has the AIDS and his AIDS has cancer. So he should be fine, the cancer should kill the AIDS before the AIDS kills him.

I just watched this, pretty interesting if you're a Seinfeld fan.
