Lottery Rookies PER stats

kings look good though....they just had a good game versus the clips.

Cousins had a monster game and Gay seemed to have carried over his good plays from the World Champ. Landry is no slouch in the 2nd unit and Collison has been surprisingly steady for them.

I think we are just using exum in the right way right now. Most of the other rookies are starting or having a bigger role for their teams, plus rookies always aren't that great.

I'll start taking stuff like this more seriously when we're about 15 games into the season.

Still cool doe.

Mullins says that the ideal situation is when the old school scouts has a sense of what he is doing and the analytics team backs it up.

This is completely the wrong mindset. The King are looking for validation that makes them feel good. They should be seeking challenge that takes them away from their comfort zone and has the possibility to improve their decision, not validate their decision.

Watch the video after 3 minutes. First the analytics "crowd" recommend Payton over Stauskis.

Voice (GM?) asks why Payton over Stauskis?

Fist, blue suit explains that Payton better defensive and fit. (camera goes to GM/ scouts who sit passively). Tan suit guy explains the minority position of why to take Stauskis (creating, shooting). Watch GM's body language at 3:37. Turns to Mitch Richmond who nods in agreement. Smiles around the room.

"you guys cleared it up for us" "good job" "real good job" Richmond gives a literal thumbs up.

Kings mgmt listened to what they wanted to hear (Stauskis over Payton) and ignored the rest.

A dysfunctional decision process if I ever saw one.

1) It's been a few games. Nothing matters yet.

2) Exum has a very small role so far. We can't compare what he's doing to somebody like Wiggins or Parker.
