Magic, Jazz, Grizzlies Three Team Deal

Is it bad that I would be ok with Jefferson and Harris, but not Burks?

Not at all. In my opinion, the only Jazz players that should be off-limits in trade talks are Kanter, Burks, Hayward and Favors. I love Millsap and all, but his trade value is arguably the highest on the team.

You would trade Harris, Al, and Burks for Gasol?
who would you rather give up if you have to chooce between hayward and burks
preferably not, but it might take that to get gasol(also remember gasol is on a 5 year deal).
hope to get a wing in return. form either griz or magic.

I would be ok with Millsap being traded if it landed us a "just under elite" SF like Gay. The other names that you mentioned should be untouchable.

A lot of people especially TNT was saying Gasol is the second best center in the league. They marvel at his oldschool post game, unselfishness, rebounding and blocking ability. Keep in mind he plays with Zach Randolph and actually likes it! Even before Zach turned into a hero. I was even shocked when he knocked down the sky hook. Shaq was PO'ed that Rudy Gay didn't make the All-Star game. The Grizzlies really have 2 1/2 to 3 depending on how you look at it All-Stars on their team. Mike Conley is 1 and Tony Allen is 2 in steals rate. They got Mayo who used to average 18 ppg as a starter and now he is on the bench? What is their problem? Why can't they get higher then an 8 seed? You guys are in the West and have to play them 4 times a year what is their deal they always seem to beat us. Dwight has a tough time vs Marc always.

Magic and Jazz also always have some good games we always seem to split I really Like the East West matchups. West is dominating East thus far. But what is up with the Grizzlies what is their problem?

I can't see us doing a trade for both Jefferson and Harris unless it lands us both a PG and SG, since Memphis and Orlando don't have any star back court players.

Also, I doubt Hayward would be traded - I think he's one of the few players KOC wouldn't deal (along with Favors).

You should add Burks and Kanter to that list as well.

Okay, serious question. Why is Hayward one of the untradables? I'd certainly consider it if it came down to getting a big deal done.

It wouldn't be a 'big deal'. If this trade is real - which I somewhat doubt - we wouldn't be landing Howard. So why would we trade a young future star who's playing well for us at a position we're not stacked in for players who aren't stars? I can see us trading Jefferson because he has decent trade value and we have too many bigs, and I can see trading Harris because we want an upgrade, but it makes little sense to trade GH when we're not getting a star in return.

Also yes - Kanter is probably on that list - but I know KOC has major love for both Favors (especially) and Hayward. I know he likes Burks but I suppose he can only protect so many guys from being traded.

Again, I would keep him on that list unless it meant getting someone in return that gives the Jazz a star/potential all-star.

If we end up with lotto picks, I say our trade needs to involve a PG. We're covered with Bigs and we can get SG's and SF's with the picks.

We have no "untradables". If the right offer comes, we will trade anyone on our team. Personally, I would put Hayward into our four young "untradables" as quick as I'd put any of them. He's the only one consistently going up against starters, and over the last 10 games has looked very good, save his three-point shot, which should start to come around. If he can shoot 36% consistently from three, he will be a very dynamic player. Over the last 10 games he ranks 15th among SF in efficiency, and over the last 5, 10th. This is while his 3 is way off, which will not stay at 11% (like over the last 5). He's proved a lot to me lately.

If we could get Conley and Gay I would trade Hayward, Jefferson and Harris. We would need a pick in return though.

Jazz only do this trade if they are getting a potential all-star point guard with a pass first mentality that's not Mike Conley or a three point shooter and can knock down the three unconsciously and play some defense that's not Rudy Gay's game or if they are getting Marc Gasol back in the trade but sounds like Orlando wants him in that deal plus if we get Gasol he creates a log jam not only in the present but the future development of our young bigs in Favors and Kanter, so not only no but HELL NO, this trade doesn't do anything to shore up any of our weaknesses.

Plus, not to forget, I want to add I am not alone in thinking this but most Jazz fans would agree that I would much rather have Gordon Hayward on his rookie contract and probably won't ever get a bloated contract like Rudy Gay's, for the production and potential Gordon Hayward has I would pick every day over Rudy Gay and his injury prone and points enormous contract because all he does is score, Gordon Hayward does so much for us besides just scoring.

Gasol signed his new deal this summer. Doesn't that mean he can't be traded until March 1. Not sure the new CBA rules with this and BYC players.

Among West Small Forwards Rudy Gay is 2nd in scoring, 1st in steals, and 3rd in rebounding. Mike Conley also is a pass first point guard and would probably get a lot more attention in a bigger market. From what I have seen , He is averaging 7 assists and most of the time the Grizzlies work the ball through Gasol, Randolph, or Gay.

Marc Gasol is getting overrated. He had a decent playoffs while Zach Randolph was drawing double and triple teams, but no way he's a better center than Bynum, Bogut, or probably a couple others (e.g., Nene). Personally, I think he's a slightly bigger, slightly more consistent (albeit slower) version of Chris Kaman. If Orlando will take Marc Gasol for Dwight Howard though, the Grizzlies have to run with that deal. Conley is a 3rd-tier PG.

Personally, I think Kanter is a better talent than Marc Gasol. He's quicker, more active, runs the floor, gets his rebounds and is learning more moves. I'm not psyched with Marc Gasol. I think he's a ticket to mediocrity. Memphis is a .500 team with him as their center.

If you think running the offense through Jefferson in the post slows things down, try doing it with Marc Gasol.
