Thanks for the response. I know in my experience it wasn't taught that way, but you are not the first I have heard that from. When I was younger I always put that particular issue into my "mysteries of the universe" bucket along with The Force and Girls' Private Parts, so I never really made that kind of a connection until I heard that claim thrown at me on my mission. There it came in the form of "I know you mormons, you are the ones who think God raped Mary". I was like "no, you must have us confused with the moonies or something". I had no clue where that came from at that time. Since I have heard more and more that it was taught the way you laid it out there. Interesting to say the least.
My impression was always that if you have a truly omnipotent being he could pretty much do whatever he wanted however he wanted and would likely have ways to accomplish that stuff way beyond what our feeble minds could encompass, much simpler, more elegant, and more fanciful than stooping to something as base as rape or mere intercourse like an animal.
