Philly counters with no Maxey, George, Embiid of course.

Someone needs to piss off Kelly Oubre or Yabu early and see if you can get them to really go hard. Grimes/Oubre/Yabu are the only hope of losing tomorrow. If we put Tshiebwe on the court with Drummond its an L. Just can't have that kinda hustle versus a vet like that who ain't trying to do all that on a Sunday afternoon.

Markkanen has his contract, JC his. Kessler hasn't had to sit out that many games and is in year 3. Sexton has only sat a few games (his ankle injury looked gnarly and he could've been out longer).

Collins I don't get. Why is he going along with this? Sure, he can take his option, but it's just another year of the same. Has Ainge promised him an extension? If he has, is that smart, for anyone? Someone in their 30s that's probably then your 4th option and taking 20 % of the cap.

to put it in simple terms if tanking gives you a one and 10 chance of drafting an absolute star and drafting one outside the top 10 gives you a one and 40 chance which route are you going to take?

I would say it depends on the number and what the rest the team. Say he extends with a declining contract 26.5 to 24ish and so on for four years. That is a normal price for a starter. I don’t know what his market will be but that should work for us. Now if we draft Flagg then you trade either Collins or Lauri.

But you are it only makes sense if he becomes a third option. Say we draft Harper.

So
Collier
Harper
Hendricks
Lauri or collins
Kessler

With
Either sexton or keyonte off the bench
And whatever young guys make it.

I suspect it more about Ainge planning to make a big trade. Then you need salary to go out.

I love how people act like it's somehow simple to trade Lauri at this point.

You could almost say he's a top 10 untradeable guy in the NBA right now. Terrible contract, terrible year, plays 60 games (max) per season, never sniffed the playoffs.

Ainge will have to take a massive L in any deal if he wants to get rid of Markkanen. And we all know that won't happen.

It's incredible he wasn't traded when his value was sky high. One of the all-time NBA front office blunders.

As @Tremendous Upside stated about Markkanen, it doesn't get any easier with Collins either. He's been on the block all the time, with no buyers. Now, give him an extension that runs into year 32/33 and he's owed $100M and you're getting back even worse contracts if anything.
