Memo vs Turkey

Yes as long as the people can make up their own minds/decision without blindly following culture/religious beliefs/the way things are done, etc. For there to be true democracy there has to be complete information. Otherwise if I'm Muslim, should I always vote for the Muslim party without questioning its policies whatsoever?

Unfortunately, some people vote without informing themselves at all. Democracy means having the responsibility to make the best individual choices by getting enough informations.

Nope. That's wrong. For example, there are ten Parties and I'm Christian. Three of these parties are Christian parties: a moderate, radical and very modern one. Other parties are communistic, nationalistic, socialistic or the middle. My question: Am I going to automatically choose a Christian party just because I consider myself a Christian? I don't get it. Erdogan is considered a quite moderate Muslim that has good relation to the States and now a better bond to Israel. That does not mean that every Muslim is going to choose him. Turkey has over 90 percent Muslims but Erdogan gets 50 percent of the votes.

Well I guess the fear is in an extreme case, if a party with a strong/moderate religious view is re-elected, then that party can put in place policies that are religious and therefore restricts/alienate groups of people who are not of that religion. I'm not saying that's the current situation in Turkey, but I can understand someone feeling like that could happen in the future.

Democracy -- Two wolves and a chicken deciding what to have for lunch.

Without guaranteed individual rights true democracy is a horrorshow. No one needs to voluntarily cast themselves into the fire because the majority tells them to.

Rep'd.

As I explained. Democracy only exists as long as the individual human rights are not touched.

Here, my rights are being touched. So yes, majority doesn't mean anything if the other %51's rights are being touched. I am and will rise against that %49's votes, the AKP government.

Which human rights are touched? I would love to get some information...

Education system, to be employed in state, public sector, to express my own ideas, free speech, media which is controlled and moderated by the government, not to be regarded as suspect if I don't share the AKP's ideas... Which leads us fachism. Erdogan is a dictator.

Turkiye has became a police state.

Mahalle baskısının her geçen gün arttığını hissetmek lazım. Eşinin diz üstü etek giyiyor diye fahişe yerine konduğunu görmek lazım.

İnadına isyan, inadına direniş, inadına özgürlük!

Does Memo have any gas in the tank. We have a few openings on the roster.

Yea this is the reason that millions of Turkish people try to re-gain their freedom, future and escape off the dictator who thinks to have all rights to shut the media down, put all dissenting people into the prison and gets richer and richer while Turkish nation gets more poor.

I am really proud of civils who tries to defend their rights while getting arrested by cops without any reason or beaten brutally. Also thanks to Mehmet Okur who tries to tell all the news to the world. As i know, his sister was in Istanbul too to protest the government. He's brave enough and has balls enough to be in action unlike Hedo Turkoglu or Enes Kanter.

Turkey's economy has increased while Erdogan was in office. Don't fall into the trap that Thatchers opponents have during this debate. (Don't do poisoning the well fallacy because it is Thatcher either please).

When an economy grows the rich always have gotten richer.

How you know the Turkish Economy has grown last ten years under this dictator? As wikileaks documents published some, Erdogan has 1 bilion dolars in 8 different swiss bank account. He's getting bribe from international companies with the cabinet. The current account deficit has increased in every year due to depending on import for the intermediate goods. He's trying to escape off debt by selling all the government assets. The life standards has changed dramatically while some radical islamics get richer and buying all mercedes, Bmws etc, some suicides due to not to be able to pay their credit cards.

Also, lots of English people were celebrating when Thatcher was died. So you can guess how she's liked much by people.

Turkiye's economy has grown by selling its own assets.
Erdoğan sold almost anything which has any value.
This is not growing, this is shrinking.

bırakın hocam at gözlüklerini takmışlar şu erdoğan denen yahudi uşağı gitse de kurtulsak ya

Could you translate this please?

I thought you were a Turkish guy, who lives in Switzerland. Translation is:

First of all, you have to live in Turkiye, not in Switzerland to make judgments without restraint. You have to live the changes of the last 11 years, fell how your freedom is being limited each passing day. If you are working in public sector, you must live the fact that you have been exiled from your current city to somewhere (from L.A. to Alaska for example) because you are not part of the specific Islamic community (Fethullah Gülen, google him) You must fell the pressure of the local community, and how outdated Islamic traditions are rising and taking control of the people's behavior again. Last but not least, you have to endure situations like if your wife who wears a skirt 1 inches up the knee, people might judge and regard her as a prostitute.

He is right. Erdogan is like JR SMITH. He is not consistent about his ideas, the ideas always change, why, cuz his big bros in USA wants that way
