What's new

Miles to Nets?

LOL. What a mix.

Its not gonna happen, but a man can dream, can't he :)

I would seriously **** my draws. There are at least six players on that roster that could feasibly average 20PPG in their peaks. One could debate that they all could, with Quincy having the biggest bust potential (of course). Honestly, I cannot see how that team does not win a championship 3 years from now.

D-Will trollin' the Nets. Cj finally get's his butt-buddy back and they both leave for free agency to their home town to play for the Mav's... I can see it now...

IF (IF) I knew I was getting Lillard and Rivers, I'd take MKG over Miller .. all day. Lots of reasons (he's a lockdown defender, huge rebounder, and great slasher .. and most importantly he is a fantastic locker room guy for a young team).

Man if they get a lottery pick out of these trades the Jazz will be insane next year. And with so much youth most of the eight would have to play.

One word: protection.

More words: I can't imagine NJ would just give away a top ten pick for Miles, even if they get a save on Petro (or Petro and Morrow). They'd at least put a lottery protection on it and Pick Watch 4.0 would be a multi-year affair.

I don't know their salary situation, but if they are looking to save as much $ as possible to sign Lopez, DWill & Howard, then I guess it's possible that they wouldn't want a 1st round pick who they'd have to pay. I'm sure you're right, though.

Also, can NJ even trade us their 1st rounder this year? They're not allowed to trade 1st round picks in consecutive years, right? If that's the case then it would probably be a future 1st rounder.

Someone mentioned they have two (unless I misread), so then they could. Not sure if they really have two.

Also I think they ended up picking #27 last year, so they could trade this year's pick. The rule basically says that you have to make a first-round selection every other year, but it doesn't have to be your own pick.

Makes sense. Thanks for clarifying.

But if Nets believe they need to unload Petro and Farmer to get Dwight it might be motivation enough to give away a protected 1st.

I think I like Danny Green more than Morrow (Green is more able to play the 3, is more of a longterm piece as he'll be an RFA, is a winner, plays a smarter, more defensive oriented game), but I sure as **** know that I like Morrow more than Miles. By a lot. If the Jazz can get Morrow AND Green for the small cost of throwing our trash to the curb, then that would be absolutely delightful.

Repp'd. Couldn't agree more.

There is a more subtle reason for getting excited about trading all of Howard, CJ, and Bell. Seeing that there is really only a month left in the season, and very little practice time, the offense would have to open up; Ty would have to improvise more than he has. This could be a golden opportunity for him, since he's placed himself in his own creative shackles so far this season. Let the boys play; riff off what is working in the HERE AND NOW.

Agreed! Danny Green seems like a Jazz player. Morrow would be good off the bench.

My only concern with all of these trades are if they all go down. We will have Hayward & Burks starting. Which is great for development but neither are a threat from the 3 point line. Harris isn't either. Hopefully the slashing ability will make up for it so people don't collapse on Millsap & Jefferson.

Hayward is a threat from deep...he just hasn't been attempting them recently and his percentage is down this year but last year he could certainly shoot.

So start Morrow or Green but only play them 15 to 20 minutes a night. Then you have your 3 pt threat.

No way they can do that with such a tight schedule. They won't know the offense and not enough time to practice to learn it. Burks & Hayward will be playing big minutes the first few games.
I don't think its a major problem because its not like were on a winning streak or anything. We can't be worse than we already are right now by losing our overrated veterans.
Just an observation.

RT@sluhm: C.J. Miles has been talking to his agent since trade rumors popped up last night. Doesn't sound like they are expecting anything to happen.

Boo! Hope this means bupkis.
