The front office likely have a number in mind regarding Paul and they should also just be up front with him about his role as a future bench player if he stays. If he wants to go start somewhere else, so be it. Good luck to him. The old Paul who constantly hustled is gone anyway. In his place seems to be a guy who puts it on cruise control and doesn't feel he has to make up for lack of size with hustle this year. I would also address this if I were the FO. I am also tired of seeing the I just bit into a lemon look after he is called for a foul.

Apparently, I have changed my mind in the middle of posting this. Just let him go to another team.

Just a garbage excuse in the truest of forms, IMO.

His play definitely HAS been doing the talking. Has he had a mentionable performance since his game against the Bucks?

If you lack vocal leadership skills, and choose to lead by 'example' instead, at least try and maintain a consistent performance throughout a season.
He had good games against both Cleveland and Memphis.

And it's more than a stretch to say he doesn't have vocal leadership skills because he doesn't talk much to reporters.

Any team that has rotational hostility, and a team-leader that can't acknowledge the talents of a player who plays his position will never succeed.
SO he has to gush to reporters at every opportunity? You really think that makes a difference?

I agree that he has complimented Hayward and Foye on more than one occasion but I can't remeber ever hearing it about Kanter, Favors or his BFF Jefferson.

Heres a good stat: Millsap has scored 20 points or over 6 times since New Years. LOL.

More Millsap-apology. Whatever. Im gonna head to class. If you really think Millsap possesses a shred of vocal leadership, then I do not know what to say

Absolutely. I'd love you to go up to Stockton, Malone, Jordan et. al, and tell them that supporting their teammates and complimenting them played zero role.

Let's hope that he's thinking he's a max player.....

I have been pretty vocal in my dislike for Paul Millsap. Like many others have said; if he would just be happy as a sixth man, acknowledging his undersizedness than he would fit perfectly. Of course, that would be at like 5 mil, not nine or ten. I doubt he would take a pay cut so unless we decide to give up on Favors ever starting at the 4, he simply has to go.

(and yes, i don't remember exactly when, but he has declared himself a starter, though not as bluntly as Boozer did)

I've only stated that there's not nearly enough information for intelligent people to reach a reasonable conclusion either way. I stand by that.

You're being too harsh on Millsap. He's worked his *** off to become a good NBA player, and it is understandable that he wants to start. And while I always found him to be a bit on the whiny side, he never struck me as a drama queen (Deron) or locker room cancer (Bell). He should show more support for the young bigs, and he should accept a role as a bench player, because that's what he's best suited for. But he remains a quality player that has helped out the team for a very long time.

Jordan? HAHAHAHA, dude was a dick to his teammates. Keep talking out your ***.

So what should he do? Call a press conference to tell the world that he's undersized and should be playing off the bench, even though he's still arguably the best player on his team?

I like Millsap. Most of the time, when he is on the floor he has a positive impact on the team, and on doing well.
He can play within the flow of a game with the team.

I like Al too, but he doesn't seem to fit into a team. Most of the time when it goes into him... the rest of the team stalls out and become fans.

They are both nice dudes and I wish them well, but I would be fine with both gone next year. I would prefer to keep Sap if we keep one.

If Memo healed from his injury, he would have started with Jefferson and Millsap would still be coming off the bench and would have never been a fulltime starter. He is one of Utah's better clutch players and deserve to be on the floor in the fourth quarter, but at the 3 position. Off the bench, he was a great rebounder with great energy. Since starting, his focus has been elsewhere and his impact on the team has been worse.

I agree with this. I just don't see the same kind of hustle or work in his current game. It's like he has hit cruise control under Ty. Defensive lapses left and right along with laziness in the rebounding department. I would rather he move on if he wants to be a starter and make big bucks. Just my opinion though.

I think this situation is being misunderstood.

Does Milsap seem pissed off because Favors, the young new guy, is getting his minutes?
Or:
Does Milsap seem pissed off because Al Jefferson, the veteran just like him, is getting his minutes?

Think about it-
When Jefferson is on the floor in clutch with Favors, Milsap must be thinking that the Jazz will more likely re-sign Al Jefferson this season as opposed to himself despite the fact that he has given more to this organization than Jefferson has.

None of the vets give a **** after the trade deadline though.

Apologist here. Dude doesn't generally offer up much of anything in interviews. He wants to be on the court, competing, which is a good thing. He has never said he deserves to start or that the decision to put him on the bench was wrong. Let his play do the talking.

Locke called him out recently for pouting and tanking after the december move.

So, you guys care about Millsap.

Why does no one care about Carroll? Kanter? Evans? Favors? Burks? Hayward?

He should shut up. He gets more minutes than he deserves. Same with Fatterson.
