Milsap's fouls

Mo, Earl, Carroll, Evans and Millsap also run the floor well above average at their respective positions. I'll be more surprised if the Jazz finish outside the top 5 in fastbreak points than if they finish in the top 2 (with Denver).

Definitely forgot about carrol. I didn't include Evans simply because I've come to accept the fact he'll apparently never receive meaningful minutes. Mo, Earl, and jamaal are all solid in transition, but can't finish like burks. Plus burks has the athleticism to guard an opposing point guard exponentially better than any of those three. Whether he will or not is a different story.
Millsap is great in transition as well as you pointed out, which makes me wonder even more why al plays so much when the rest of the team can run the floor well. His defense severely hinders fast break opportunities.

That really depends on how the Jazz hide Al defensively. If they help hard on pick and rolls, opposing teams get more jump shots (instead of helping late/soft, giving up layups), which in turn lead to lots of fastbreak opportunities (teams aren't going to shoot a high percentage or draw fouls on jumpshots).

If they run the pick and roll right at him, the jazz are in trouble.

Uh...maybe you missed the end of last season and the playoffs. Smart teams with serviceable point guards will run the pick and roll right at him on most possessions.

Dude, we're on the same page. I'm saying that in the playoffs and against smart teams they cannot hide Jefferson. I agree with you completely.

I don't mean to accuse you of anything, but your name got me to thinking.

Are you Big Al?

Millsap is the master at cheating on defense, and tonight it showed in more than 1 area. Yes he fouls way too much as we all know from this article.

But Millsap is always cheating on defense. He reaches constantly and guys blow past him than he fouls to stop them.

He gets burnt even playing off the ball because he is trying to cheat rather than playing it safe. Anderson embarrassed him tonight.
