Before Rubio started playing for them, I don't think anyone other than a Wolves-first fan had said that in at least 4 or 5 years.
 
You will find no bigger AK fan than me. I wanted him back on a reasonable 4 or 5 million dollar deal. What i cant figure out is why the wolves are paying 10 million per. Where there other teams with offers greater than 5 million per annum?
 
I just noticed the amount he is getting HELL NO!!! wow, Wolves must really really hope he can play like he used to...a few years back.....10 mil, wow...no thanks...
Still hope he does well, but that is alot of pressure on him now I would say.
 
So will he compete with the #2 pick from last year for the 'playing out of position sf with crazy athleticism, but can't shoot a lick from 3pt land' spot on the Wolves roster?
Glad that Minny got rid of Wesely Johnson.
Hope the second year is only partially guaranteed.

Not to my knowledge. I think AK will do great on the Wolves, but they seem to be overpaying him. But there are certainly worse contracts out there, and it's only for 2 years.

He does have a penchant for getting way more money than he is worth. Well done on his and his agents' part though.
 
Wow only about 2x's overpaid. Wolves are blowing their Batum wad on the AK.

No wonder they never do anything.

Someone put Kevin Love on suicide watch.
 
I think $10 mil a year for him is a bit much.

And on what planet did AK get a raw deal here? He got a max f'ing contract here. One of the worst max contracts of all time.
 
hmmmm... they ned a scoring wing... and a big guy that can defend the paint and rebound, à la Asik. instead of AK, Asik would be great next to Love.

They still have too many forwards and no starter quality SG. They also need a backup center.

Rubio/Barea/Ridnour
Wesley Johnson/Budinger/Malcom Lee
AK/Derrick Williams
Love/D. Cunningham/ Derrick Williams/AK
Pekovic/Love

They look like team that is going to go small to me.

They have similar problem to the Jazz that most of their best players play the same position. I expect Rubio to guard SG's so Barea/Ridnour play SG on offense. Love,Derrick Williams and Cunningham are all at their best at the 4. They also only have 2 dangerous 3 point shooters-Ridnour and Love. AK, Rubio and Wesley Johnson don't really scare anyone.

Awesome. I had this exact thought when Portland matched Batum(well, Minnesota handing out the same offer to AK). Not quite as lucrative as Batum's, but I'm kind of a fan of AK47 and of that injured Spanish point guard they've got, so if they can put some fun pieces around them, I might have to watch more games. Although, Kevin Love makes me puke every time I watch the Dream Team right now.

Thank goodness the Jazz didn't pay him $10 million a year. Funny how $$$$ changed his mind to come back to the NBA. Good luck AK I wish you well against everyone but the Jazz. Oh yea screw you AK !!!! I hope you continue to suck... that feels better. LOL.
