More death threats -- Woman take video of her walk through New York

I would guess you are extremely risk-averse.

FWIW I believe the risk of talking to someone on the street or on a bus is just barely above absolute 0,

Very few people who know me would describe me as risk-adverse, and I won't try to convince you further that the harm you can unintentionally inflict is indeed not close to 0.

Like the 90's

I blame this on music!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, when I first saw that bikini top on her
She’s poppin’ right out of the South Georgia water
Thought, "Oh, good lord, she had them long tanned legs!"
Couldn’t help myself so I walked up and said

Baby you a song
You make me wanna roll my windows down and cruise

Down a back road blowin’ stop signs through the middle
Every little farm town with you
In this brand new Chevy with a lift kit
Would look a hell of a lot better with you up in it
So baby you a song
You make me wanna roll my windows down and cruise

this song promotes RAPE!

So what's going on in this thread? I see Eric doing his thing but what's really going on?

Most of the rest of us are defending our right to look at boobs.

No that's the other thread. In This one moat of us are defending o8r right to not feel guilty every time we say hi to someone, while Eric is doing his best to make us feel guilty for existing, as usual.

Just a bunch of privileged people proclaiming their right to have the rest of the world respond to them on their terms, regardless of how others feel.

Naw, despite your increasingly rude and condescending tone I see no need to act in a similar fashion to others.

I was only pointing out that you didn't want to act in a similar fashion to how *you* acted.

Let me see if I understand the Stoked version of what is rude and condescending. Saying that I'm just trying make people feel guilty for being alive isn't the least bit rude or condescending. Bring up how some students have responded on various sites to rate instructors, or for that matter just speculating on how I personally interact with people, wasn't rude or condescending at all. Engaging in ridiculous exaggerations isn't rude or condescending in any fashion. Lying about statements (or just being to lazy to see the truth) I made wasn't rude or condescending.

Instead, what's rue or condescending is pointing out that, sometimes, the reason people are putting out signals that they want you to talk to them is because they don't want you to talk to them, and if you talk to them anyhow, you hold some responsibility for any negativity.

Thank you so much for your etiquette lesson.

You're just an adjunct, aren't you? I mean, real professors would be teaching multiple classes on multiple days, grading, researching, getting published. But I see you have nothing better to do with your time than to troll Jazzfanz. So, again, I ask you, you're just an adjunct, right?

I'm sure you have a really good reason for being so concerned over my employment situation, and an even better one for saying I'm "just" an adjunct, as if being an adjunct meant I was inferior in some way or held to lower standard.

I am an adjunct. I only teach 3 classes, covering 5 days during the week (four evenings and Saturday morning). Including summer, that will have been 39 semester hours this year.
