So I lost you at trade Millsap for Harrison Barnes? My point is that if it is clear that we are only going to keep one of either Jefferson or Millsap, and in 3 years perhaps have neither holding down our front court.... I am in the camp of trade the guy with the most trade value to maximize return... and that is Millsap! It is time to turn the teams front court minutes over to Favors/Kanter. No one disputes that Favors should be starting over Millsap. If that is the case we will be trading a backup PF for a future starting SF, and freeing up the cap space to pursue the shooting we need going forward. With this trade we become harder to defend and better long term. I liked that we made the playoffs this year, but with GSW, Portland, Nola, and Houston improving it will be harder to make the playoffs next year anyways... I am not interested in squeaking into the 7-8 seed the next couple years. I am confident that we are one or two pieces away from having a team that will compete in 3-5 years...
I basically choose to sell high on the trade value of the guy who has the most, and who is going to be losing his value soon when he is pushed to the bench.
