My bid for Joel Embiid

I will do anything to get Joel Embiid.

I love Favors... he could be Horford some day. I like Kanter, he could be 70% of Kevin Love. I like the picks we have stockpiled.... but Embiid is the only player who could be a top 5 player in the league.

My best offer for Embiid from hopefully Milwakee after Cleveland take Parker or Wiggins:

Favors, #5, #23, GSW 17', and the right to swap picks with us in 15 only. We also take on Mayo's contract. II would even make our pick unprotected next year and just give it to them if needed to seal the deal. When Embiid becomes the best big in the league and the second coming of Hakeem, no one will care that we lost a top 10 PF and a bunch of late picks when we have the games best two way center and a future HOFer.

Yes, it is a lot to give up. But do you really want to pass up on the next Hakeem but 7 feet instead of 6'10" to keep Horford and a few picks in the 20's. I look at Atlanta, they will never contend with Horfard as their anchor. That doesn't mean Horford isn't a great All Star player. But he isn't an all timer... Embiid will be.

My hope is that Exum slips to us at #5 so that Milwakee will pull the trigger (Orlando would be picking Smart in this scenario)

I would do this because I want franchise changing talent, not the next Gordon Hayward who is a 3rd best player on a contender. At the end of the day you can't win in this league if you have a team made up of #3 options.

Go all in on Embiid and win a championship!

(Then I would see if Sacramento would want Mayo for us taking on $17M in expirings plus one of either Jason Thompson or Carl Laundry for their #8 pick. With that we take Aaron Gordon, Vonleh, or Doug McDermott. Sacramento clears $16M to go after FA's to contend for the playoffs finally. They don't need their pick as much as they need veteran FA's. Maybe a Gortat type and a Livingston would get them there.) I would also be willing to trade Kanter during this draft for a shooter. So maybe pick up Gordon or Vonleh at 8, and McDermott at 10 by sending Kanter to Philly.

Go For it Lindsey!

Let me give a football analogy:

We have Jay Cutler in Favors, but all of us would trade for Peyton Manning in his prime if we could... and we wouldn't mind giving up a second rounder, and a couple of 4 rounders to make it happen.

Only way we get Embiid, or get a chance to trade for him, is if the medical reports aren't good and teams above us get scared.

So basically we only get Embiid if he is medically declared to be doomed the rest of his career. So get Embiid and hope doctors are wrong.

We really only need a defensive big at the Center position to contend... look at all the past years' winners.

If Cleveland takes Parker and Arn Tellem doesn't let Milwakee see the medicals and won't let his client workout for them and basically makes it clear that Embiid does not want to go there then Milwakee would do well to make this trade. They get a franchise PG in Smart or Exum, a All Star PF to pair with Sanders and picks, picks, picks... they can justify it and so can we.

I'd give #5, Kanter and Burks and a future first for Embiid. And all the other picks this year. And Kevin Murphy. Didn't we trade him to GS for three players and two first round picks? Dude has V-A-L-U-E.

The leading scorer on 8 of the 15 post-Jordan championship teams was a big man. All 15 of those teams had a big among their top-3 scorers, and 12 of 15 had a big among their top-2 scorers. 14 of 15 of those teams had a big that averaged at least 16 points per game (Sheed averaged 13.7 for the 03/04 Pistons).

That is WAY too much for the #2 pick in the draft. Wow.. Embiid is going to go #1 anyway.

If the Jazz scouting department decided Embiid is the home run of the draft I am all in and all for this deal, I see no one on our team as untradeable to get an all star and franchise player. I'm just excited to see who DL and Co. think that player is between Wiggins, Embiid, and Parker, because I know we have the assets to move up I just hope they get their guy.

LOL, Murph had some real value and Golden State wanted him bad!

Favors, #5, #23, GSW '17 pick, and the rights to switch picks in 2015 for Embiid? Way too much, come on now.

I'd say 2015 is too soon. I'd do that trade but swap the rights to 2017 or 18.

And to be honest, and I know this is kind of dumb, but I think I rather give up Kanter than the 2017 GS pick.

Seriously? Favors and #5 for Embiid is really pushing it.

Lol at the guys who said Burks and #5 for Jabari was too much, but Favors and #5 for Embiid is a good deal.

I never said "big", I said Center. Reading comprehension. Sheed isn't a centre for example.

I've never said that. Listen, without a star you have nothing. I'd give up Hayward, Kanter, Burks, Burke, Favors and Gobert for a star for 7 years. I can build around a star. The Jazz have nothing build around.
