Name a better wing rotation than Hayward Hood Burks

Chemistry issues. You need wings who are fine with playing max 20mpg. Burks would need to be sent out.
So ridiculously overstated on this site. Just like the assertion you can't sign players because 2 to 3 years down the road, other players need to be re-signed. Apparently, mediocrity loves mediocrity.

Because they like watching Chris Johnson, Joe Ingles and Li'l Sap?
Nope because they like watching hood.
If we went out paid big money for one of those free agent wings then there is a chance that the new free agent wing would have started from day one. Burks and hood would have split back up minutes. Burks goes down and hood gets chris Johnson/Joe ingles minutes. Hood isn't able to fully showcase what he can do.
Or the newly acquired highly paid free agent gets cj/ingles minutes and isn't happy with his role.
Then when Burks is healthy again things get more complicated and uglier and chemistry suffers.

Or everything just works out perfectly and it's all good.

Im can't read the future so I can't be sure what would have happened had we acquired an expensive wing last summer.

Fortunately I don't need to be able to see the future to see what is happening right now. Which is that our wings are amazing and will only get better when Burks comes back in a few weeks and we are winning games like we have not seen in years.

The cake baking plan at the wing position is working out beautifully which is why a thread asking if there is a better wing rotation anywhere else in the league even exists.

Don't think I'd consider Green a wing. He mostly plays bigger than his size would indicate - pretty much 4/5 exclusively.

Thompson, Barnes and Iggy are a very good trio, but imagine Hayward, Hood and Burks with Curry - that's dirty. Jazz have a clear advantage at the wing.

on any other team than the Warriors, i honestly think he's more of a 4/3, not a 4/5.

I'm a guy who believes in the young talent on this team AND I still wanted Carroll back (until the price tag became too prohibitive.)

Still think they could have found some space for Casspi and Lin on the bench. Not sure those two guys would have been a detriment to chemistry and would have certainly improved the talent at the end of the roster.

Even better, imagine Hayward, Hood, and a good third wing with Curry.
You don't think Burks is a good third wing?

He is putting up as good as it better numbers than wes Matthews, Danny green, and demarre carroll for less money iirc. (And he is younger than all those guys)

but either way that's why i put Green at the end of the list, and honestly i'd put our guys above theirs if Green isn't included in that mix, no doubt.

1. Even Quin has talked about going small with Gordo at the 4. Booker, Lyles, Ingles, Withey, Johnson, Millsap, Pleiss and O'Brien have played a combined 3983 minutes this season -- that's more than 78 minutes per game on average. Plenty of minutes to add a (big) wing.

2. Burks is a mirage.

He is putting up as good as it better numbers than wes Matthews, Danny green, and demarre carroll for less money iirc. (And he is younger than all those guys)

and he's got more positional flexibility than those players

So since we just played dallas last night (matthews) i decided to look up his stats on the year. He shoots worse from 2pt range than burks, shoots worse from three point range than burks, gets to the line way less than burks, rebounds worse than burks, assists worse than burks, scores less than burks, is more expensive than burks, and older than burks.

Hell, we might be better off with cj and ingles than wes matthews. We dodged a big bullet there!

Burks is alright as a 6th man. Not sure you need both Trey and Alec. Jazz could use a bigger physical, athletic defensive wing -- even better if he can shoot.

Did I say something about Wes Matthews?

It is too bad we couldnt get danny green though. He is shooting 38% from the field and 36% from three (about the same as wes matthews). Averaging 7 points per game getting to the line 0.5 times per game! Rebounding worse than burks and getting less assists than burks too. And again, he is older and possibly more expensive (not sure on his salary)

Dang, too bad we couldn't have that kind of production at that age and salary!

But the real prize of free agency would have been 29 year old demarre carroll. His 38% shooting and 11 point average combined with his phenomenal 1.0 assists per game would make his huge contract a steal no matter how you look at it. And the fact he has only played 22 games this year is just a bonus! Plus he gets to the line 2 times per game and shoots 58% from the line! That is almost as good as Rudy Gobert!

Crap, if only we had him!

Danny Green was in a terrible slump to open the season. He's a better defender than Alec, and his shooting has returned to form over the last month plus. My point is that there have been more than enough minutes so far this season that a quality player could have been added without sacrificing minutes to key players, including Rodney Hood. Keep quoting me and arguing with someone else though.

PJ Tucker is available

30 year old pj tucker. 41% from the field. 34% from three. Gets to the line 1.4 times per game. Good rebounder (5.7), 1.8 assist per game. 7.0 points per game.

Again 24 year old alec burks has better numbers almost all the way across the board.

The grass isn't always greener on the other side.

Our wings are awesome! And young. And have good attitudes. And good chemistry. And all do some different things well. and all can play multiple postitions.

What does Burks do well?

Definitely not saying Tucker instead of Burks. I'm not sure where you got that. If anything he would take Chris Johnson, some Ingles minutes. I agree with GVC on the fact that we could use a wing defender. It used to be Millsap but he was terrible this season.
