1. PER is pretty useless.
2. Kanter's teams are consistently worse with him on the floor, even after correcting for teammates and opponents. That's not a coincidence.

You're strongly implying Jazz fans thought the Jazz would contend this season.
Also, I don't think anyone ever said that Kanter was the worst player in the NBA last season. You're a disingenuous *******.
I said you guys were claiming hes the worst player, i didnt say that u guys were claiming u would have been contender this year without him, you are trying to make it look like i said it,

Okay, let's break this down.
You start by saying how good Kanter is based on PER. So you are clearly indicating that in your opinion Kanter is a very very good player (8th best in NBA).
Next you say "you guys" (meaning us Jazzfanz) were claiming Kanter was the worst player in the league. No, I don't think that was ever the consensus opinion here. We don't like the guy, but that's besides the point.
Then you finish by saying "Thought Utah would have been a title contender this season without Kanter, he was the one dragging them down since he[']s that bad" So either you're saying that's actually what you thought (obviously it isn't since you started out by saying Kanter is the 8th best player in the league) or you are mocking "our" opinion on Kanter by implying that we all thought Kanter was so bad that by getting rid of him we would be title contenders.

Hi Enes.
It must mean something is criminally wrong with your game when you're top 10 in PER and average a whopping 20 minutes a game.
And worst player? No. Worst defender? Yes, and it's not very close to who 2nd place is.
PER is a decent aggregate offensive stat. Kanter is a top tier post scorer and offensive rebounder. His plusses are more than nullified by terrible rim protection, passing ability, and BBIQ -- all of which are important as a part of any winning team, especially as contemplated by DL/ QS.
This is why despite an elite PER his plus/minus is very poor -- top center in PER, eight in ORPM. Near last in DRPM (for the last 3 years)
I remember a highlight played by Locke where he raved about Kanter being on the right spot on the baseline on a teammate's drive to receive the pass and easy layup. It had taken him forever to get basic positioning tactics such as this, much to the coach's chagrin. Kanter just wanted the ball dumped into the post and then do his thing. He never really grasped team concepts.
So I think you may be failing to see the good and bad in appropriate balance.
Your last sentence is just ridiculous on too many levels, I would not know where to start.

Okay, this one feels sarcastic. You clearly did not think Utah would be a contender without Kanter. So you are mocking those who thought Kanter was sooooo bad that his absence would launch them up there with the Warriors. Only no one thought that. It is a good thing that it can be sarcasm just by being irritating and does not necessarily need to be funny.

Why do you ignore what he can do best, but instead focus on his flaws ? Every player has their flaws, just look at what hes as a total package with defense and offense, he has best +/- from the second team hes playing with,shoots %57 from the floor, scoring close to 12 ppg in limited munites,every time theres a thread about him they just copy paste same defensive stats and say that blah blah hes this bad,Utah not so much better without him and OKC winning with him, what do you guys expect from him ? be a perfect player dominate on the offensive end and defensive end and become a hall of famer ?

Well there was indeed an understanding of Rudy's defensive effect boosting Jazz's effectiveness to change the game after Kanter was traded and Rudy started starting. And I agree with it. It was a dramatic change. And I'm pretty sure Utah would fight for a 6th seed scenario if everyone was healthy and stoked about being here. But an unlucky season for the Jazz to say the least.

Ironically right now on NBA TV, they are all saying that they love how Kanter plays and his defensive gaps are irrelevant compared to his offensive impact, that he should start and play more.
