Newt's liabilities seem to consist of having three ex-wives and such. Other than that, he's the one to be credited for Bill Clinton's successes with the economy and the budget. Pragmatic and sensible, and able to work things out in a good way to make things better. Newt's going to support Trump for all he's worth, and will be a resource available to help Trump in the politics of everyday DC.

I still think the main reason to vote for Trump is that he scares the **** outta the Siros and other committed ideologues for "the way things are", even the Jeb Bushes and Mitt Romneys. What I hear is that he plans to tak3e on the mainstream media face on. What's their favorable ratings, anyway. How do people today think of the standard media. It's a joke. They are in the tank for an ideology less than twenty percent of Americans even believe is a serious issue. Nuts, not objective. Trump wins against that f'ed up mess. Trump wins against the JazzFanz progressives who have no clue what real people think.

But the "moderate" GOP leaders, the folks who have done nothing to stop Obama in anything in eight years, should view the Trump vote as a repudiation of everything they believe and stand for, and think things over. If they want a political life, they would do better to get in front of the Trump wave. Might not hurt to manage Trump into some "moderate" decisions. Might make Trump seem "Presidential" even.

But the fact is, this is America's "Brexit". There's a huge wave of sentiment here against the way things have been going. It has got to be stopped. No politician opposes it will survive this Tsunami.

It's a sad day for America. I yearn for the good old days when America was great. Now everyone gets a trophy. Gosh darn it that makes me so mad...seeing everyone getting a trophy. Only winners deserve trophies. Ugh, America sucks because you get credit for participation. Probably this is the worst thing in the history of humanity. I'd rather have slavery than everyone getting a trophy. I'd rather exterminate everyone who didn't really deserve a trophy. I just want to live in a country where everyone actually earns their trophies. That's the kind of place I want to live. And if it takes mass exterminations to make that possible, well, ****, I guess that's not even a big deal to me because I'd rather incinerate losers than give them a ****ing trophy.

It's just a differing of perception based on generation. When I was a kid and I gave a **** about stuff like that, the trophies I earned sat on my book shelf for years. I coached Little League baseball for a couple years and I got caught up in that "everyone gets a trophy" thing. I gave them out to kids that didn't even want to be there let alone deserved one. While it meant something to me as a kid, to them it's just an unearned piece of metal and I would imagine went straight in the garbage.

Newt is the greatest American since Ronald Reagan an Ron Paul. He is a true libertarian but has to play a role so the GOP does not attack an tarnish.
I could only hope Mr. Trump appoints Gingrich an McCain to every cabinet office. Undo all Hillary blunders like Bhengazi.

LOL - I read this article earlier this morning. I enjoy Slate Magazine but some of their writers are in liberal La-La Land. Trump got 13% in the primary but he still finished with 8K more votes than Hillary did in the Dem Primary.

A lot of potential votes are up for grabs; so I guess using the loosest definition Utah is in play; certainly more than it has been in my lifetime. But this is still going to be an uphill climb for Hillary and Co.

What I think will happen is that the D efforts here will drive voters to a 3rd party. As long as it results in the Rs not winning it is a victory for the Ds.

I get what GF was saying but I think both of you are taking this a little bit too far. There is a strong need to make kids, adults, teens earn things. That goes without saying but your mockeries of "conservative values" seem to be discounting that aspect.

I think babe is on to something here. I've been of the opinion for a long while that Trump's attractiveness has been the outsider combined with saying dumb **** that you would hear in a bar (or by Stoked). He is by far the most populist candidate I have experienced.

You all seem to think that populism does not carry across party lines. This is not the case as Trump is clearly proving right now. His entire campaign has been based on uniting common ground, stupid *** hick America into a whole. Believe it or not, there are many democrat, union dues paying, gun toting Americans who align with the republican platform in every way outside of their own personal paycheck. Trump is capitalizing on that vote.
