NON-JAZZ NBA PLAYOFF thread

When was the last time a nonesuper team won it all? Would the raptors from two years ago be considered a super team? Do you need three studs or does two sure fire HOF’rs work?
I view a super-team as being a group built explicitly by the players by bringing in their buddies to an otherwise non-competitive situation. Miami with LeBron was the poster-child for that. LA is one right now as LeBron brought in AD directly. Brooklyn is obvious. The clippers are trying to be that but the 2 guys they got in all of a sudden haven't panned out, but that was their attempt.

Sometimes super-teams form by draft and trade but I don't view them the same. The Lakers in the 80s even the Lakers in the early 2000s fit this. They got the great players together but frankly no one saw Kobe becoming maybe the 3rd all-time best player. Of course Shaq went there chasing the glory of the Lakers but if Kobe hadn't become one of the greatest all-time do they ever become that dominant?

That's different than a few all-star buddies colluding and deciding where they will meet up to chase the ring.

By this standard, the warriors are the poster-child of the naturally-built super-team, because again it wasn't a bunch of established stars deciding to meet up in Miami to simply overwhelm everyone.

Of course even the Miami LBJ super-team were thwarted by 2 of the great modern teams built the fair way.

Of course this is just my opinion. And of course a win is a win is a win, so the ring still count, even if it is Durant ring chasing by hanging on the coattails of an already established super team. But I have a lot less respect for that one. But you can't take it out of the record books. It's still counts. Just like if this year everyone except the Jazz came down with some weird stomach sickness that took every single team out and we won by default, that ring would still count.

Lakes gonna blow it up next year with only six players under contract.
Bron gonna go to Brooklyn. Maybe even AD. Get the dream team together. Buncha wusses.

If we face the suns, who we put on Booker??? Royce will be torched.
We've been defending by committee all season long. It might go 6 or 7 games but in the end we will have 2 games we win like games 2 and 3 in the Memphis series, at least 1, maybe even 2, like the closeout game. We can eke out the 4th win. But I think we still win that series.

For the lakers they go to a previous play to even things out. Okay. Okay. Never seen anything like that ever but yeah... lakers

What makes that even more ludicrous, is the fact that we have seen multiple reviews for the jazz where there was another foul involved in the direct play, and nothing is done to reverse it, and then they don't even reverse the one they're reviewing when it's very obvious that it wasn't what they called. But of course for the Lakers we're going to go all the way back to a previous play 30 seconds earlier and make some kind of a weird call just to balance it out. Unbelievably ridiculous officiating this season.

ive never ever seen that....where the refs dont call one thing and then go down to the other floor and another play happens, Lakers got called for a foul and then they went back and reviewed the previous play. that was confusing as ****. LOL.
No it was straight up sketchy bordering on unethical since they don't really ever do that, and they've even explained that they're only allowed to review the play that is under direct question, that's been told to us when it's been questioned about why they didn't review a different play, but of course here they go. Maybe corrupt is a better word.
