As much as I appreciate Exum supporters, you thought Exum would be better than Hill and starting this year.
Here's the thing about all of your Exum complaining; Utah is already going to be in a bad spot financially. Having Exum blow up next year and then have to max him out would not be ideal. Ideal would be to bring him along slowly, and then have him make the big jump after signing him to a reasonable contract.
He's not ready for the starting role on a contending team, and Utah has some incentive to develop him slowly for one more year. In other words, I wouldn't hold my breath on Exum making some big jump next year.
only problem with this theory is that if a desperate team or a spiteful team decided to throw him a ridiculous huge offer in UFA ... you then have to make a decision without really knowing exactly what you're paying for. And if he is unhappy with his court time or how he perceives he's been handled, has he got more incentive to chase other offers ??
