>=] OFFICAL GAME THREAD! Jazz @ Blazers

Please tell me that's not true.

It's not true. Never could have happened. It was about as likely as a tornado in Salt Lake, or a black guy becoming president. Does that help you feel better?

Anyway, just before the draft everyone knew the Jazz were targeting a pg. Jazz brought in all the top talent, There was a workout with Larkin, Schroder, and McCollum. The Media seemed to home in on McCollum, he was a terrific three point shooter, he was mature, a leader, a small school who wanted to play anywhere. McCollum was saying all the right things: he loved the city, he liked small programs, he was mature, ready to contribute, I think he had the same agent as Hayward or something like that, etc etc.

Then the Jazz drafted trey, who refused to work out for them, and whom they had only interviewed in Chicago because the NBA made Trey do mandatory interviews.

McColum has a screw in his foot that supposedly scared the Jazz off. Instead, they chose the player with parents who have a couple of loose screws. And the rest is history.

Small market teams can't succeed when they make drafting mistakes. This is just another time the Jazz have hurt themselves by drafting the wrong guy. Speaking of which, Trey Lyles looked awesome tonight.

I'm damn near done with Burke. This recent slide has been brutal. I've hung onto hope for 3 years and I'm ready to shift my love to Mack.

Season highs in points and assists for Mack btw

Wow, I thought I felt the earth move.

A great thread....Crazy things that are more Likely to happen than Trey Scoring 40 against Rockets.

I don't think Neto lost the game -- the fourth 3, I think it was, was Rudy's fault because he didn't close out on it -- I saw Quin say something to Rudy when he called the time out. But all those shots were hard to defend. We lost the game because we couldn't stop them from getting offensive rebounds. With Rudy and Favors in there, that should never happen. But you know the refs were letting them get away with a lot of physical play, especially Plumlee, and Favors was getting hammered underneath and no calls, and then they call touch fouls on him. The refs definitely played a part in this loss. Getting sick of the Jazz getting unfair treatment from the refs. Someone from the front office should start sending the league some video.

You realize, Dala, that Burke has little motivation now. He wanted to get traded and now he has to finish out the season with a team he doesn't want to be part of. So, it's understandable that his play is going to fall off. I expect that if this continues, he will start seeing DNPs, especially when Burks comes back, and then CJ will get the remaining available minutes for defense.

if you think about it, getting benched actually helps Burke. If he keeps playing crappy everyone will see it. If he gets benched, there is a little uncertainty about whether he maybe could perform if the coach would play him. Even if it is just self-deception, Trey might like the bench more.

My brother doesn't watch basketball and even HE can tell Burke is crap... I bet a young boy watching the games can tell Trey isn't a good basketball player.

Booker and Burke both played too much tonight. They were a mess and cost the team key possessions on both ends. It's really about time for Quin to start going into playoff mode. After the Jazz flipped the script in the 1st quarter they should have gone for the kill. Instead they let CJ, Lillard and Harkless go off.
It's apparent we don't have the personnel to contend and can't trade for anything. Only hope is to get another lottery pick. Of course Lindsey will again choose someone who has ballerina balance instead of knock-down shooting.

At least we're getting closer to Hayward leaving for nothing. Then Jazz can promote Hood to #1 option and make Johnson the 6th man, while still maintaining that all important cap flexibility...you know, so Utah can be players in the free agent market as was mentioned two years ago.
