Did you catch Aldrich's "random fact" that Utah has 147,000 miles of shoreline? Kid is brilliant.
Lakes have shores, right? I think there might be a lake or two in Utah. How much lakeshore would there be?

I don't buy Babbitt's ability to defend NBA wings.I too am right now leaning toward Babbitt right now. He's 6' 9", good size to guard anyone at SF or SG. He can score from anywhere on the floor. He tested very strong for size, so can battle in the post. Can put the ball on floor and get to basket. Jazz need to perhaps take BPA even if not a PF or C at this point at the #9. Not a clear cut winner available for a big man. Jazz need someone who can give impact minutes when on the floor.
Babbitt's ceiling is Mike Dunleavy Jr., who was terrible during his first four years, had one good year offensively, and now is facing a career threatening injury. He has yet to defend a wing.
With the draft still a couple weeks out, my list of players I'd be happy with if we drafted them has grown. It now consists of Luke Babbitt, Gordon Hayward, Ed Davis, Hassan Whiteside.
Babbitt would be ideal assuming we bring in a guy like Brendan Haywood via free agency as well.
A three-question interview should determine the Jazz pick:
1. Define "jackpotting around."
2. Would you be offended by a coach constantly cussing and questioning your manhood?
3. Have you ever seen a John Deere tractor-pull competition?
Based on that, I think Coal probably has the advantage.
Don't necessarily agree, but the FO is ultra-conservative. IMO, Jazz need to take the best player available who also has very good upside. Aldrich could very well be BPA, but IMO, he's very close to his ceiling. WYSIWYG with Cole. And I just don't think that's going to be enough to stop Gasol or Bynum. So you have to draft someone with better potential or make a serious upgrade at another position and hope to get a defensive center via trade (e.g. AK's expiring).Sounds like you agree with (former) coach Musselman, eh, Glass?:
"I often wonder why more teams don't use a team like Utah as an example. Utah drafts and signs players who fit Coach Sloan's system. The Jazz value intangibles like toughness and often-overlooked skills like screen-setting as an important element for their team to be successful."
