What does jack-potting mean? Is it what Brewer and CJ used to do with each other or something? What does this term mean? It surely doesn't sound right....
What i'd be happy with:
Trading up to 6 to draft Cousins. Throw in the Memphis pick to get 'er done.
Trading Down to 12/25 with Memphis and picking Whiteside, Henry, or Davis at 12 and Gani Lawal or Warren at 25.
Trading down to 16/23 and doing the same as above.
Or, if we don't feel like our guy (hopefully Whiteside, Henry, or Davis) will be there at 12, just draft him at 9.
I like Lawal; however, I'd prefer the Jazz just stay put and draft Ed Davis.
Lawal has always been on the brink of being great...Just hasn't put it together. Much like Tyrus Thomas, he's got all the tools - just not the feel. Davis would be nice, real nice. We're only a week out and I'm starting to waver a bit on my love for Babbitt. I keep thinking of Scott Padgett. But I think Babbitt is much more versatile, but who will he guard?
FYI, I am just talking to myself. Wasn't asking you that question per se.
I can't believe I'm agreeing with Lucifer. Er, I mean, David Stern (same thing, IMO).What i'd be happy with:

I like Lawal's potential. He had been rated pretty high for the past two seasons, but has really dropped. Personally, I'd like the scenario of trading the #9 for the #12 and #25, still getting a good wing like Henry, Babbitt or Honzward and then be able to pick up Lawal to play behind Millsap.
Btw, great avatar and signature.
So you take a wing and a back up PF. What do you propose is done about the center position? Invite Samhan to camp? Or whoever else isn't drafted? Maybe Zoubek?
Not necessarily. The Kings gave up a couple of decent players in return for Dalembert, an underachiever. I think this was similar to the Harpring deal. Sacramento wanted to get rid of Nocioni's contract so they traded for an expiring (Dalembert) and had to give up a decent young big to get the deal done (Hawes).Maybe the Kings pick really is available. The top players expected to be available at #5 are Cousins and Monroe, yet they just traded for Dalembert from Philly. They are all potential centers, so this might be our chance.

I doubt Dalembert will be with the Kings after this season.
In fact, this may have cleared the way for them to draft Cousins. They'll have Dalambert to play major minutes for 1 season and Cousins will have less pressure on him the first year. Then Cousins becomes the starter in 2011. Smart move by the Kings if this is the case.
I really don't see them taking Cousins at this point, it seems like their pretty sold on Greg Monroe.
Any chance Cousins falls to us at 9? The Clippers/Warriors won't take him. So it seems like it will come down to Detroit or Sacramento. If Detroit passes him up for some reason, then it will be time to celebrate.
The Jazz hold Monroe, Davis and Henry in high regard, but the question is what happens if all three are gone before the ninth pick. There’s belief that Babbitt is the best wing scorer in the draft, but Aminu’s versatility would make him tough to pass on.
Judging from their post-workout comments, the Jazz also believe Cole Aldrich and Ekpe Udoh will enjoy solid NBA careers. (I do think Monroe, Davis and Henry all will hear their names called by the Jazz before Babbitt.)
Without a shot blocking, athletic big man, the Jazz stand pat. That's the reality. If the Jazz want to win and compete with the lakers who we have to go through to get to the finals, we need a big man.
