Crap, the youth movement stuff that is coming out of today is actually getting me excited about next season. Too bad KOC is going to screw it up by resigning 3/4 of this team.
haha, me too. sounds to me like Al and Paul are gone. We can only hope Mo is gone too. Marvin and Randy might be back, but that will be ok if we don't sign any more vet wings. Maybe Marv can play some 4...
Al Jefferson: "I think I have shown that I'm not just the black hole that I've had the reputation of being in past years."
We have to sign someone. Marvin would be any expiring contract.
The salary floor is going to be about 52 Mil. With Marvin opting and us picking up Kevin Murphy's option in we have about 25.5 Mil commited for 7 players. We are required to play 6-8 players at least 26.5 Mil.
Our two first round picks and a our second will make about a combined 4.5 mil.
If we resign Foye (2.5 Mil again) and Carroll (2.5), then we will still need another 17.5 mil of salary.

DMC said that he had a good meeting, that the management was really pleased with his interaction with the fans, the fan bowling nights, his attitude about playing time and that they would like to have him back.
Said he wants to be a Jazzman as long as they will let him.
Said he wanted tape of Bruce Bowen, and that he wants to improve on his corner three's.
Wow! This is a 180 on some of the other things he's said, primarily about playing time. Perhaps the FO let him know things would change significantly. DC could be a definite force off the bench. I'd say 5th starter, but with Favors and Kanter in the lineup, the Jazz really need a better scorer at SF.DMC said that he had a good meeting, that the management was really pleased with his interaction with the fans, the fan bowling nights, his attitude about playing time and that they would like to have him back.

Tax relief for cash-strapped teams in exchange for unrestricted picks.I agree that we have to sign someone. I would look at a C and PG personally. Especially if Marvin, Foye and Carroll come back.

we need all of that 17.5 mil. They're gonna absorb some contracts for some picks.
Wow, can you imagine Carroll's energy fight and hustle combined with improved D and better behind the arc? I hope the Jazz sign him the first moment they can. I really want him back.

1. Gasol from LA is one. And without Kobe for much of the season, they'd likely miss the playoffs. But I'd insist on an unrestricted pick. Otherwise, the league gives them a top-3 in the lottery and the pick falls into the late 20's range in 2015. Maybe give them the rights to whoever we draft at #21 this season. Or if they want a straight salary dump, give them the rights to Tomic.OK fair enough. What particular contracts out there are likely and how high of a pick is it likely to be depending on the team?
Give me options people. I am no good at that stuff. If they do not play for Utah I do not know.
