Cubbies made a bunch of little fielding mistakes too. Stuff like that is why they are a year away from serious playoff contention probly.
Baseball fans are taking their first swings at the sport's new security guidelines.
Forget shelling out cash for $30 tickets, $9 beers and $16 parking charges. Major League Baseball fans have more reason to empty their pockets, only this time of keys, mobile phones — and whatever loose change might be left — before a day at the ballpark.
MLB morphed into the TSA when it told its 30 teams they had to implement security screening in time for opening day. All fans are expected to walk through metal detectors at all entrance gates, no exceptions.

About time! The only thing I've been holding onto with baseball is that I enjoy going to and watching games in person when I'm in a MLB city. Now, I'll have to seriously debate if it's even worth the hassle to drop into a Dodger/Angels game every once in awhile. Can we just go straight to Indonesian type security in American where there are these things at malls and hotels and the like? I'm tired of being able to walk into and out of places freely. I'm tired of all the Fernandos at Dodger games bringing in bombs. Hug me police state. Queue me up, pat me down, keep me safe. Tuck me in at night.
I can't say anything regarding the NFL or NHL, but the NBA's been doing this for at least a few years. It's annoying if you get there close to game time and it takes longer to get you in, but I always try to arrive early so it's usually not an issue for me.
This is cute. I'm sure you're joking, but is this the rallying cry of the Rockie fans who leave comments on the ESPN boards and youtube? I could see that being the go-to point for the stereotypical 'dumb fan'.
I disagree that they have the league's best hitting club.

Last season they led the NL in damn near every hitting statistic. MLB doesn't have the splits up that I cold find but IIRC they led both leagues similarly, without a DH. The home road splits didn't change it either.
Best hitting team in baseball.

Not sure if serious, but the Rockies OPS was #1 at home and #29 on the road. They have some good players, but the Coors Field effect is massive.
So ignore the altitude when evaluating their hitting, but cite it when evaluating their pitching? They play more games @ Coors than anyone else. They should lead the league in hitting statistics every year.
Chubs druggie, I said there home road splits didn't change the fact I.I.R.C. If you have the stats then show them and I'll look. I don't know how to find them.
Giants fans are so much more interesting than nostalgic WGN kids who grew up od'ing on whatever drug Chicago ships out. Where are they all this season?
Sure, Ttey don't change the fact that they had the best hitting stats in the league because they play 81 games at Coors field every year. They'd have to strikeout every at-bat on the road to not have the best stats in the league. Truth is, the Rockies offense sucked on the road.
.906 OPS at home, .636 on the road

If the Rockies had the best offense in baseball last year, they probably would have won more than 66 games
Your trolling is very weak in this thread. You do better work in the Jazz forum.
