Yeah, he was only there for 1 year. Doubt he learnt much and would likely regress to his old ways of doing things.

Was it the letting Corbin and his staff go, the getting Burke, Gobert and Neto, a bunch of draft picks, ensuring the tank for a pick this year and cap space to boot that didn't earn yours?

Why would Spurs let Pop go? Why?
 
Maybe this is unfair because I stopped watching the utes so quickly, but my impressions of boylen were: foul mouthed, lazy, self excusing, defensive with the media, poor results and poor effort. Casual to a fault and played the victim too easily. What kind of magic does Pops have to fix all that in a year.

Moving up in the draft was nice, but losing on purpose and being cheap doing it was easy--look at all the teams that did it this year.
 
I'd be ok with Stan Van Gundy. I'm not a George Karl fan. I like Tom Izzo. Ultimately I think I would like to see a young up and comer take over.
 
I don't know much about Boylen but can somebody please explain this:

Jim Boylen might be Lindsey's guy. He's an outstanding coach, IMO. But can't think of a tougher sell in this market. And no honeymoon.

Didn't he run the Ute program into the ground?
It has taken years to recover.
 
Leaking Boylen is freakin' genius. If people are settled with the inevitability of Boylen, no matter who is announced after that point would be cause for celebration. I'm not sure I wouldn't take Luther Wright over Jim Boylen. BYU fans hate him and Ute fans hate him even more. Boylen would be the equivalent of hanging a big poster of someone flipping the bird outside of Energy Solutions Arena.
