Mizzou couldn't run him out of town fast enough! I also remember his teams. Lots of 3s and 1 on 1 ball. Essentially the same crap Corbin did.

After 3 terrible years of Corbin the summer of retribution brings us...

and yes, the chances that utah will not win a title in the next 10 years are very very high

I like him a lot. Became an assistant coach right away for the bucks. Not many guys can become coaches right after retiring.
No offensive game during the league. Not much athleticism. So the fact that he stayed in the league as a great defender for 8-9 years in a very good sign.

Thibs picked him to be one of his assistant coaches right when he got hired in 2010. So if Thibs likes him then that is a great sign.
DL has always hinted towards Favors being a Noah type player. And refers to the bulls defense.

I think he will be the hire. The only thing I worry about is that he doesn't seem to be a great vocal leader. Very silent and when he talks he doesn't demand respect like other people do. But maybe that is not needed as much. who knows

This team as presently constructed needs a vocal leader. Someone who can whip these boys into shape.

We have none.

Agreed. We just got rid of a supposed defensive-first head coach who was a journeyman in the NBA (and popular assistant to a really good NBA head coach) who lacked the prowess and respect needed to get through to his players.

I don't know if Griffin will prove successful or not, but, as it is with most every assistant who lacks head coaching experience, you're taking a gamble.
 
Again, another vote against the "silent leader". This very young team needs a father figure and leader as coach. I'm not even sure that's open for debate.
 
Getting Griffith though keeps DL in full control of the rebuild though.
DL can continue to call all the shots.
Getting a high profile big time HC could create conflict with DL.

There are some coaches who have been very successful who are very calm like Adrian Griffin. Sometimes it keeps the players at ease seeing that. The assistant could be more of the aggressive coach vocally.
But honestly that is just based off of 1 interview I saw on youtube. As there isn't much. I shouldn't judge him based on this. But he is soft spoken. But this was 7 year ago. So maybe he is different.

That was the first thought that came to my mind. Thought it might have been a typo since Adrian Dantley is actually a basketball coach.
 
Boylen is helping propel the Spurs to the Finals, and you guys are talking about Adrian Griffin?????
