Official Player Workouts for the Utah Jazz

Bigger? Millsap was measured with a longer wingspan, higher weight and equal standing reach at the pre-draft combine. Their sprint and lane agility numbers aren't all that different either.

Wouldn't that be a disappointing outcome though? The Jazz let Millsap go so they can move up in the draft to draft a player similar to Millsap and acquire what will likely be two late first round picks. Effectively, it's Millsap, Carroll and ~#14 pick this year for Millsap-like player, #23 and a 2017 1st round pick.

This is great. If you're the same size and athleticism, you're going to be the same player. Makes drafting a whole hell of a lot easier, I guess.

In Perrin's last interview he got noticeably excited when asked if anymore of the top 10 guys had workouts. It was a slight "tell" to me Randle might be higher on their board than we think.

Just finished watching the interview, and yes I do notice that too!!! Boy am I excited for that workout!!!!

Just realized my engagement pictures are on the same night as the draft.

Dammit man.

You can do draft style photos

"And with the number one pick in the marriage draft, Hantlers selects (insert fiances name) out of duke university"

Or maybe look into trading the pick...

Granted, I'm a Randle homer and have been all season, but I continue to be impressed with how articulate and level headed he seems to be in his interviews. Smart, good character, hard worker, aggressive on the court, tough, productive, winner - whether people like him as a prospect or not, nobody can deny he is exactly the type of player the Jazz organization would love to have on their roster.

Absolutely this.

Agree.
Randle is never going to be a star. If the Jazz want yet another player who is undersized for his position, but "plays hard" (yes, I'm referring to Trey), then they'll draft Randle. Do that, and kiss our chances to ever be a contender goodbye. AT #5, Utah needs a player with all-star potential. Randle will be productive, but never one of the best PF's in the league. Vonleh would be a better pick. Gordon would be a better pick. Smart would be a better pick. Randle could come in and contribute right away as a backup. But is that ALL Utah can get from the #5 selection? Even trading back gives Utah crappy assets. Jazz need ALL-STARS, not more role players and late 1st's.

Draft Randle and I definitely won't renew LP; it will just be wasted money. Of course the other effect will be me posting way less on Jazzfanz. So my productivity in other areas will go way up and some on this board would likely throw a party.

Only trade back option should be with Boston for the #6 and #17.

Randle better PF right now than Vonleh. Vonleh >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> upside than Randle.

Julius = solid player for many years in the league.
Vonleh = potential multi-year all-star or potential underachiever.

Safer pick = Randle. Then what? Are we trying to assemble a team of 10 "solid" but not great players?
Fantastic! Let's make the playoffs every year as the 6-8 seed, maybe even get to the 2nd round once or twice. Then in 7 years we can start the rebuild all over again with a new GM and a new tank season in 2021. PKM and PG_AB should start looking at 6th-graders right now to project if 2021 will be a great draft year.

Randle has twice the quickness and motor of Vonleh. You can't sleep on that. I think Randle is going to be a force in this league.

Vonleh looks like he has a slow first-step to me.

Randle's is much quicker, and way more powerful. He used his first step to get into the body, then uses his strength to get leverage and get by.

Vonleh just looks like he uses some fancy dribbling and covers ground away from the rim instead of to the rim.

I actually think I would rather have Randle than Vonleh tbh.

When I am watching a Vonleh highlight, I sometimes wonder if I hit the slow mo button on accident.

Vonleh was able to guard guards on the perimeter when he was switched on to them though.
