Sorry, slightly MIA for my birthday and Thanks giving.

Jazz thumped the Clippers and Pelicans this week. Looked good to. Jazz are going to come out of November with a .500 or better record. That is HUGE!!! Wins over the Raptors, Clippers, Grizzlies, Pacers and Hawks. Jazz are 5-5 against teams over .500 and .500 on the road! These are very good bench marks. Also looks like the WC is starting to sort itself out. All the "locks" are starting to put it together and outside the Rockets they are all in the top 8.

OK, to business:

Rockets @ Pistons
Thunder @ Hawks
Spurs @ Bulls
Nuggets @ Bucks
Warriors @ Jazz
Mavs @ Kings
Blazers @ Clippers

Aside from the Blazers over the Clips looks like we want the home teams to win. OP updated.

Good night for the jazz despite the loss. a bunch of western conference teams were beat by eastern conference teams and even the games of west vs west pretty much went the jazz way

Yes but man oh man that W would have felt amazing. The Jazz's next 4 are v. Magic, v. Pacers, @ Kings v. Knicks. Jazz can win all 4 of those games. Then two straight games against the Thunder here and there. Go into that first OKC game (in Utah) on a 4 game winning streak and go for blood. Jazz have played a really rough month up till now and are at .500! This is HUGE for the Jazz. They are only 2 games out of 3rd in the west and the schedule starts softening up a little, thru February. For example in December the Jazz have 10 home games and 5 road games. We play Sixers, Nuggets, Blazers, Pelicans, Suns, Wolves, Kings, Knicks and Magic. Only 2 back to backs.

So last night's recap: Rockets, Thunder, Spurs, Nuggets and Blazers all lost.

Clippers and Warriors (we had them!) won. Dagnabit!

On to tonight's games:

Lakers @ Sixers (Battle of the Tank!)
Suns @ Nets
Magic @ Wolves
Grizzlies @ Pelicans
Mavs @ Blazers

OP updated.

I'm still feeling sad that the Jazz couldn't seal the deal last night. Stephen Curry is a monster. I will laugh hysterically if the Sixers beat the Lakers. I think I'm going to tune into Magic-Wolves. The Jazz have Orlando coming to town Thursday and owe them payback, but both those teams seem like fringe postseason caliber teams that the Jazz need to show they can beat consistently.

Me too. I want to be happy that we were so close but that only makes the loss hurt me more for some reason

Sucks so bad we didn't get the win. Felt like a playoff game

It is also a sign that the Jazz have taken a major step forward. We are no longer a bottom feeder lottery team. Jazz are a playoff team that still has clear internal growth and money to spend. No more excuses DL. You must deliver this offseason.

I agree.

Back up C, PF and SF. That SF needs to be a shooter.
Take a long hard look at PG.

SG starter and back up are fine. I love the Hood/Burks combo there.

Ingles stays on the team but becomes an end of bencher. Johnson and Millsap say goodbye. Probably Booker and Withey as well.

These close losses always make me weep over the "what-if Exum didn't get hurt" factor. I thought I came to terms with his injury during the preseason, but clearly I have not. It really sucks we don't have him this year to see what the Jazz would be made of.

the disappearance of New Orleans and Houston has given the jazz a pretty firm toehold on a playoff spot. I think the odds are that Houston re-emerges at some point, but, yeah, I'm weirdly confident of the playoffs and the jazz are sitting at .500.... didn't think I'd be writing that so early in the season.

Not to mention the schedule. Jazz have played 10 road games v. 6 home games. Jazz have played 11 games against teams .500 or better and 5 games against teams under .500.

Being at .500 is damn good.

Jazz didn't play last night but Other Western teams didn't. Unfortunately the two teams the Jazz really needed to lose, Grizzlies and Mavs, won. But the Lakers, Pelicans, Suns, Wolves and Blazers lost. Jazz are right behind the Clips, Grizz and Mavs...

Tonight's breakdown:

Warriors @ Hornets (at this point why not?)
Lakers @ Wizards (It's awesome that Bryant's farewell tour is a disaster)
Suns @ Pistons
Nuggets @ Bulls
Pelicans @ Rockets
Bucks @ Spurs
Pacers @ Clips

The race is going to be sooooo close. I'm already starting to get heartburn. GSW, SAS and OKC are only 3 teams I think are locks to finish ahead of Utah in the West. I think the rest of the team the Jazz can finish with a better record than if they get on a roll in this homestand and not look back.

Another night in the books!

Warrios thumped the Hornets (no surprise, Lakers pulled out another win! Good, they need to endanger draft picks at this point. Spurs and Rockets (dang it) also won.

Suns Nuggets, Pelicans and Clippers (YES!) lost.

6 games on a Thursday? That's odd:

Thunder @ Heat
Nuggets @ Raptors
Magic @ Jazz
Spurs @ Grizzlies
Pacers @ Blazers
Celtics @ Kings

Jazz win with a Grizzlies and Thunder loss would be the best outcome. The rest is just icing.

OP updated.

All I'm concerned about is a payback win against the Magic. If I think about anything else I will focus on Rudy's injury and get the scaries.

Normally I do this first thing in the morning but after that BS last night I couldn't bring myself to even look till 3 PM. Go ahead and laugh lol.

Last night: Jazz lost! Son of a...as ide from that it went fairly well. Thunder, Grizzlies and Kings lost. Spurs, Blazers and Nuggets won.

Jazz are only 2 games out of a tie with the Mavs and Thunder for the 3rd and 4th seeds.

Tonight's games:

Suns @ Wizards
Lakers @ Hawks (Lakers wins would be nice now if just to mess with their pick but let's be honest, we all hate them)
Rockets @ Mavs (win win)
Cavs @ Pelicans (Go west!)

OP updated

Alright, last night review:

Suns, Lakers and Mavs (yes)lost. Suns are falling off hard. Mavs loss is good.

Tonight:

Nuggets already won.
Warriors @ Raptors
Kings @ Rockets (win win, go Kings!)
Blazers @ Wolves (win win)
Celtics @ Spurs
Pacers @ Jazz (Hayward and Favors are going to have beast games)
