Official Record Prediction Thread

Too much can change, and change quickly in the next 19 days. I reserve the right to edit my predicton right up to the deadline.

I agree with the Oncorhynchus nerka from Hooverville, there will be many close games while the team searches for a way to close games (they struggled closing post D-will and its importance cannot be understated in NBA games)

On Dec 6th I was at 20 wins.

Dec 8th - I got sucked in on media day, KOC "We want to Win", Ty Corbin, "We're going to make the defense easier so guys don't have to think, but leave the offense pretty much the same." - + 5 wins, 25 and 41.

Dec. 10th - AJ ripped, Memo healthy, Watson 2-yr deal +6 wins, 31 & 35

Dec. 12th - Jazz to force basline, players say Burks is amazing best rookie, Locke predicts he starts. +5 wins, 36 & 30.

Dec. 15th- Realization that Jazz still have unproven sg and no real sf, last year's big problem. -4 wins, 32 & 34.

Dec. 17th- Watched scrimage. Kanter is raw, front court not as loaded as I thought. Hayward looks good, but gets lost for periods, I keep waiting for him to take over same for Harris. Who is going to put the team on his back and say "We are NOT going to Lose"? Nice guys finish last. -4 wins 28 & 38.

Dec. 20th – Jazz lose by 20 to PTB. Starters looked tired, not a good sign for game 1 of a compressed season. Harris 5 TO to 2 ast. Memo & AJ combine for 5 rebounds. Howard 0-4 in 5 minutes. Atleast Ty was smart enough to sit them and play the B-team. -7 wins for the starters, + 3 wins for Coach playing the B-team. 24 & 42.

Dec.22nd - Jazz beat Ptb last night in a strange game where Bell and Harris looked like they retired three years ago and Dr. CJ/Mr. Hide made another appearance. Gordon and Favors response to starting was underwhelming. Today Jazz traded Memo for a 2nd round pick in 2015--I wouldn't be surprised at all if the Millers sold the team, but that won't impact the record, will it? No SG, no starter level pg or sf, front court depth gone, uncertain direction from front office. -4 wins. 20 & 46.

24-42

On an off topic, with all this Lakers-on-the-brink-of-getting-everyone-for-jack-**** going on and Pujols to Angels and all the money that's being thrown around, it really makes you feel like a small fish as a Jazz fan

This thread needs a poll. But it seems we already had a poll about how many wins they would have. I could be wrong.

23 wins and 43 losses.

The schedule is absolutely brutal. Practice is going to be scarce and the Jazz have a lot of young players that are going to have to pick up things fast.

I'm not confident in Harris; as far as point guard IQ goes, I think he's a little on the stupid side.

Jefferson looked absolutely lost for much of last season. Took him forever to begin to pick up the offense. My knock on Jefferson is that I don't think he makes anyone around him better. He'll get his stats but that's about it.

I could see Millsap, Jefferson, and Harris all missing a number of games due to injury. Oku will probably sit out the 2nd of back to backs.

It's not unusual at all for players in their second year to struggle quite a bit. Hope it won't be a problem for Hayward.

Love Favors and wouldn't be surprised if he sees significant minutes.

I've lost all faith in CJ Miles. He's consistent in being inconsistent.

Don't want to see Raja Bell play a single minute all season. He sucks.

Overall not very optimistic about the Jazz being able to put together a winning season. But excited to watch our rookies and sophs continue to develop.

Umm, If we keep bringing in the D League guys, I may have to go with 16-50, which really wouldn't be bad considering it would give us what should be a good lottery pick.
Now what I would like to see would be 40-26. That would probably be pushing it, but I can hope.

I do like the optimism. It's almost time to break out the Jazz Kool Aid.

I'll say the Jazz average 2 wins for every loss. So after 66 games the Jazz will be 44-22.

I'll also go out on a limb and predict at least the conference finals and probably NBA finals. If Corbin proves to be a good coach then the Jazz are loaded.

Lots of talent and depth at every position. Is there a deeper team in the whole league? Plus the compressed schedule should give the young and deep Jazz an advantage.

If big guys win championships, and the Jazz have more depth and talent at pf and c than anyone else, at some point you have to take this Jazz team seriously as a contender. It just depends on how fast the young players mature and how good the young coach is.

I'm going with 62-4. Jazz finally win a title just to have an asterisk next to it.

Unless they have any injuries, then I'll go with 22-44. Jazz tank once they realize they're not making the playoffs.

Can we somehow make this thread sticky so at the end of the season we could look back and see how ridiculous some of these predictions are? I am surprised nobody yet predicted we will win it all...
