Official Utah/Minnesota/Philadelphia Pick Watch

Lopo wasn't the only one ready for a change on Gobert. That contract is debilitating. He is easy to scheme against in the playoffs. His attitude wasn't his best quality. And there were signs that Mitchell played better defense when he was off the court vs on the court.

But Lopo was the loudest.

Also, Mitchell was a tremendous defender in college and it felt like Quinn told Mitchell to save his energy for the offense.

Needless to say, Markaanen, Sexton, and 4 picks for Mitchell still feels like a great return even knowing what we know now because Spida was not staying in Utah long term.
Considering the comments Mitchell has made publicly you are giving him way too much of a pass. He basically admitted he slacked off on defense. He has thrown shade at the team here in general. He was disgruntled and he let that affect his play. He is the one we are best off without.

Jaden "2 unprotected 1sts" McDaniels stats this season:

10.6 PPG, 3.2 RPG, 1.4 APG, 1.2 SPG in 30 MPG

Steph out a few weeks... sucks for the Minny pick. I think 4-7 over that time would be considered good for them. It could be like 2-9. Maybe the Lakers can creep up. Just wanted to have the Warriors distance themselves a bit and really place all kinds of doubt with the Wolves.

I can also see the shoulder injury "lingering" if the Warriors struggle and they end up tanking again cuz they dirty mfers.

This is the championship cores swansong year. They wont tank that way unless they are absolutely sure they wont make the tournament.

Draymond is gone after this year and is very hard to replace because of what he is and does. Steph isnt getting any younger either... and likely has 2-3 years max at an elite level. Klay has already been declining past few years..

Now they might take the rebuild road and trade Draymond and other guys not named Steph... but I dont think the "lets skip this year" plan is an option.

If they struggle is the perfect cover to move Dray... who I don't think they want beyond this year... and he may opt in unless the Lakers have cap space. I can also see them offloading a salary to save some money with their insane tax bill and staring at a play in spot. If Poole, Klay, etc struggle and they are like 2-9 while Steph is out they could be looking at being 3-4 games out of the play in and an uphill battle. There has to be some toxic cloud hanging over the group a bit from the offseason fight ****. Dray also kinda tunes out until playoff time if they aren't playing well... he is low-key kind of a front runner.

If they look around and are like... we can get something for Dray, we can save $50M, we can reload next year for another run, and we can have a shot at Wemby.... **** it our title chances aren't that great. Shoulders are scary and they should proceed with caution.

Im not entirely discounting the possibility of them tanking. Im just saying if they go for it, I'm seeing a bigger rebuild since you cannot replace Draymond and all that he does (its such a unique skillset).

Wemby pretty unique doe.

I love Rudy, but just imagine how much better shape Minnesota would be in both now and going forward if they had just kept Beasley and Vanderbilt, added Kessler to the lineup, and kept their 4 first round picks.

They would definitely have more options.

If you are depending on OKC for anything you will be disappointed.
So so close. 2 point win for the wolves. Would be funny but also suck badly (for our pick) if the wolves were better without gobert and KAT who I think are their 2 highest paid dudes.
