Okur May Return On Pre-Christmas Road Trip

just throwing this out there...... back when i used to play nba live 2010, i altered my lineup to have jefferson so i could see what it'd be like. jefferson plus okur equalled pure domination.

so obviously, it will be our best lineup ever. lol

video games, don't fail me now!

I predict Okur's offense will be huge for this team as a second unit player.

Yeah, his defense will still stink; but at the same time they'll be less exposure being he'll be on the court with Elson rather than Boozer.

I agree with the impact on the second unit. Okur with the second unit and possibly Milsap or Jefferson with him for a few minutes of Overlap would give the Jazz a huge advantage against most other second units. I also like the spacing okur could give the 1st unit playing center with jefferson or milsap at the pf. But I don't know how many extra wins that will mean for the jazz given the defiencies at the wing.

Okur will give the Jazz an entirely different look. More importantly, if he's the player we saw previously, he's actually a good defensive center against behemoth bigs. Very useful for slowing down the Yao's of the world.

Underrated factor in our playoff struggles against the Lakers the last two seasons: Okur injured for both series.

KOC just stated that Rigby may have jumped the gun a little on this. Not looking like Memo well be back for the trip after all.

Memo is going to fit in nicely with the 2nd unit. They have been doing well but are a bit offensively challenged. Lots of 24 second violations. Memo will be changing that.

To this day it amazes me how some Jazz fans continue to undervalue Okur and what he brings to the table.

I would say his return is absolutely huge for Utah and what it means for bench production among other things, but that's really hard to say considering you've got a 7-footer who's over 30 years old coming off an achilles injury.

However, if we get anything close to Memo and what his "A" game used to be, IMO it elevates Utah to a completely higher tier when talking about whether they can contend or not.

Even though he's scheduled to come back soon, I think Jazz fans need to be patient once he returns (ya, right). It's going to be a work in progress and it will definitely be slow going. I think you'll get a better idea of what new Memo gives to the Jazz around April.

He's had time to do nothing but practice his shot. He already knows the offense. Is it possible he'll return better than when he left?

As a side note, I'd like to see you two (you know who you are) get a room and battle it out some more. Don't forget to tape it for our incess-tragedcomic-whatever. Thank you in advance.

I must admit that I'm at a complete loss and have no idea what you're talking about. However, I have a hunch that you're drunk. Not that there's anything wrong with that.....

Neither do I, sir. Well, at least not anymore. I forgot. But it will come back to me in ten minutes or so. I am sure of it. Crack a beer!

I'm hopefull that Memo will be back before the end of 2010, but I won't be surprised if its January.
