OMG! Sanders might be an atheist!

Real question for folks: Would you vote for someone who was openly an atheist?

An atheist.. sure if they were most qualified.
A devil worshiper? No.

I don't believe for a second that believing in God is a prerequisite for having the desired moral compass. I have atheist friends that I consider better people than most of my Protestant or Mormon friends.

I know this is obvious.. but just in case (for whomever) atheist does not = devil-loving. It simply means not believing in a God, per se.

Certainly. In my view it would be a plus, but then I'm not a fan of religion. I worry about people who want to put god before country as none of them really know the mind of god but think they do, and that can be dangerous. Most civil rights issues have had to be fought against religion, when it should have been religious people fighting hardest for the rights of all. Most of the world's conflicts have been due to religion - the idea that I'm right, you are wrong, and it is my duty to make you think like me because god.

And there is my agnostic rant of the day.

An atheist isn't going to believe in a devil any more than in a god.

And as you said, a person does not have to be religious to be moral.

Yes if I thought they would be a good president.

same goes for any race, religion, or sexuality.

Yeah, I only mentioned it the way I did because I'm amazed how many somehow think atheist means devil worship. Just a largely misunderstood word/term.

This.

I'm agnostic btw

does this mean gender or, like, frequency of sex?
Cuz I don't trust any celibate person.
It means gay or straight or whatever.

Okay... here's a serious question.

What if a married lesbian were elected. And the "girl" was the one elected. Would it be politically incorrect to call the butchy one "First Lady?"

Your question makes me cringe. Would you like there to be a femininity test available to determine if a woman can be called a lady? Does she have to like pink and wear lace? Is she disqualified if she likes to watch sports or belches?

And would you ever ask this same question about a man?

I don't know how I'd feel about having a "first man" in the White House doe, tbpfhwy.
Why? It's the 21st century. Time to catch up. Women can now be strong and men can now be supportive. And society survives. Isn't it great?

Of course it's the same in reverse.
And I meant it as if the person requested, themselves, to be called something other than a woman.
Btw, it concerns me that you didn't see my post as a completely comedic one and was in no way meant to be taken at face value.

That's why I said "serious question".. To make it funnier.

I know funny. And THAT was funny.
Even funnier than a huge wall.

Do devil worshippers even exist outside of horror movies? It was an obvious joke.
