What's new

Open Scrimmage October 5 at 4 p.m. MT!

Some of those guys on the blue towards the end started playing pickup style ball, launching at will. Ugly stuff!

My MVPs: Kanter, Burks, Machado, Gobert, Evans.

Favors and Hayward were relatively quiet. It still blows me away at how many people fall for Kanter's pump fakes! Ha ha...

The same with all of AL. I was always blow a way at how good he was at the ball fake. Always fell for it

Oh well. We'll have to hear about the rest from someone who was there.

It was good to see the boys again.

I saw a lot of positives, and only a few minor negatives.

Positives:
-Trey was ok. I thought he ran the offense well pace wise.
He still missed a few shots he should be making, but he also had a few nice scores.
Some people are going to come in here, and say he sucked. Ignore them. I saw some nice improvements, specifically in the way he ran offense compared to summer league.
He made some stupid turnovers, but I liked his body language overall.

-Kanter was moving well, and was very involved. You have to love that. He looked like the best player on the floor a lot of the time.

-Holiday's brother seemed pretty good. Hit some shots, looked pretty smooth/comfortable out there.

-Gobert's strong summer league play carried over here. He just looks like he belongs out there. He's making plays, and impacting the game. You have to wonder
if this is only the beginning. He has real potential.

-Hayward hit some nice long jump shots, and was active. Didn't try to force too much.

-Burks was playing hard. Had some tough luck on a few shots that didn't go for him. He did hit a medium range jump shot with the clock winding down.

-Dominic McGuire had some good shots early. Scoring on drives, and a alley hoop finish (right after Evans had his).

-Machado was impressive. He was probably the best looking PG overall. Ran the offense well, got a couple steals, looked comfortable, etc. He has a nice little floater too.

Negatives:

did Favors play? I don't recall seeing him out there.

I only saw a little bit of the scrimmage at the very beggining.

Kanter loojed like the best player on the court.
Hayward swished a nice mid range shot.

Burke missed the 2 shots I saw him take... his jumper seems really flat (needs more arc).... it seems like he releases his shot just after the height of his jump and has no leg strength pushing the shot, its all arms.

Burks missed all his shots I saw (4 of them I think) but he also had 2 offensive rebounds.
Best thing I saw from burks was that he beat his man off the dribble twice pretty easily (with no screener) in iso situations and got into the paint for floaters...... I think if this were a real game he would have went harder and drew fouls in those situations.

Favors made a nice mid range J and that was it
