Boom Tho is a character and has a college degree. His coach in the DLeague former Jazzman Jay Humphries loves him. He put up some sick numbers in the DLeague playoffs. Davidson played for Idaho a couple of years ago and got a contract from Golden State. Augustine is a college teammate of DWills and played well last year in Orlando. I will be interested to see how Gaines, Jeffers, KK and the draft picks fare with the free agents.

Despite his occasional "jackpotting around", I think that Rod Benson is extremely intelligent and has the physical attributes that could very well land him a spot on the Jazz roster. I honestly can't understand why he hasn't had a shot. I think some teams are intimidated by his public image (The Boom Tho Movement)

Yeah, but what's Boom Tho's +/-?

Against the Lakers, will he be like Fes, the Greatest of Them All, with a positive +/- or will he suffer the same failures that befell every other Jazz player and be negative? I need to know!

So Paul Harris is that kid from Syracuse that a lot of board members wanted the Jazz to draft in the 2nd round last year and got hurt while preparing for a summer league right? Guess he could beat out Jeffers to fill out the roster since the Jazz will be looking for 1-2 cheap players to fill out the roster and one of those big guys as well, depending on how the FA and trade period goes of course.

We've got a really good summer league team this year, I wonder if Wesley being so successful has very much to do with that.

No, I think it's the fact that for the first time in many years, we actually may have 3-4 roster spots available. And those spots are at every positon. Most of the time our roster is nearly set going in to the summer league. Agents will direct their players to the teams that give them the best shot at making a roster. This year, add Utah to the list where multiple rookies and D-Leaguers have a legit shot.

Probably subtract Boozer and Korver. Add Hayward. Also take into consideration we had Gaines and Jeffers filling out our roster. That at least 3 roster spots up for grabs, just to get the Jazz back to 13. Maybe 4 if KOC decides to carry an extra big until he's sure Okur will be able to play. And even more spots if for some reason the Jazz don't match offers for Matthews or Fesenko. '

What's up with all these people saying Benson's personality might be keeping him out of the league? What am I missing? He seems like a likeable guy. Does he think he is above coaching or something?

Benson has a nationally famous blog. There is some concern that stories about the team would end up on yahoo sports via Benson's blog.

He had a run with the Pacers in training camp and didn't get much of an opportunity minutes wise in the preseason. His 24 points and 16 rebound average in the DLeague playoffs shows he can play at that level.
