Thats pretty darn good!!

Statistically, Burks looks very nice! I like Burks and still have hope that he will be very good. His decision making and defensive presence are the major things that are keeping him back. I want us to play him more at the 1 just so he gets in the habit of distributing and playing for others a bit more. He can play defense against 1's as well; he's that quick. He could be very good, but I see a lot of players around the league that remind me of Burks, who will never be even a good 2nd or 3rd option. I hope he tears it up this year since Harden will never be a Jazz man anyway.

16.3, 5.1, 2.1, 1 (stl)
43%, 33%, 73%

--Burks has also been showing a better 3 pt shot this year, but his spot up 3% was very good last year, in the top of the league
--Great athleticism, better than Hardens
--Tremendous rebounder for his position
--Free throw line %, very nice
--Ranked well via Synergy on defense (Synergy is flawed for defensive performance though)

Knocks:
--He seems to have bad BB IQ
--Playing with players
--Bad shot selection
--Not strong enough
--Horrendous % at midrange; should improve this year
--out of control

IMO all of your knocks are things that can be fixed, especially since he is only getting into his second year and is only 21!!

Let's hope you're right! He's a hard worker and doesn't lack for confidence. He has a true position in my opinion (SG), which I can't say for Hayward, but I love Hayward's all-around game. If Burks had Haywards BBIQ, he'd be tremendous.

And if Kanter had Favours hops!!

There is no player on our team I wouldn't have traded for Harden. I would certainly have traded Hayward and Burks straight up for Harden. I would have been open to packages and picks. But...huge but...that presupposes Harden would have resigned. My guess is a little birdy told Harden that Houston would offer the max, Harden told the birdy he would, and the deal happened. Without that guarantee, offers would be substantially lower even with the Bird Rights.

Bird Rights? The team owns agency rights, period. Harden is theirs if they're willing to pay the most.

Sign me up although I would like the keep Hayward and trade Millsap instead. Harden dropped 37 points, 12 assists, 6 rebounds, 4 steals, and 1 block. Beast

Beard just carried the rockets, thunder fan must be pissed off. No easy to make 37 points, 12 assists and 6 rebounds in his 1st match without any preperation

Seems to be off to a good start. He also had 4 steals. Jazz have a lot of players like that. I'm pissed, pissed, pissed!

I wonder if Burks, Milsap, our 1st, GS 1st would have got us close to Him. I think he could have been our answer at PG, a lineup of Harden, Hayward, Marvin, Favors and Kanter could be scary in a year or two. Or leave him at SG and bring hayward of the bench at 2 and 3 spot.

Could have, would have ....

"AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (AP) — With a new team and a new role, James Harden looked as comfortable as could be.

Harden had 37 points and 12 assists in a sensational debut for Houston, and Carlos Delfino made four 3-pointers in the fourth quarter to lift the Rockets to a 105-96 victory over the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday night.

Detroit led 83-72 early in the fourth, but Harden and Delfino brought the Rockets back. Houston acquired Harden on Saturday night in a trade with Oklahoma City and on Wednesday he agreed to a five-year, $80 million contract extension."

Hayward and Burks are gonna do that every night too. Yup, someday. Homers.

Jazz should have gone after him with everything they could.

Just an update for the overrated Harden.

Game 1: 37, 6, 12, 4 (56%; 40%)
Game 2: 45, 7, 2 (74%; 50%)

After 2 games he's averaging 41, 6.5, 7, 2 (64%; 43%; 87%)

I know, he's going to have a slow game since he's practiced a lot with his team, oh wait, he wasn't with the team for training camp. He definitely will have a slower game though, say 25, 5, 3, 1.

Where are the 35 who voted no now?

I saw this and actually said aloud, under my breath, to myself "holy ****..."

Harden is looking better than any player in the league so far.

I actually voted no on the proposed trade due to my homerism for burks but i am man enough to admit when im wrong.

IM WRONG give me harden, take burks hayward and both picks next year.... and braille

I'm just sick that we didn't go after him. He's not going to average 41 points this year, but holy crap he was worth the max and trade. This opportunity will not happen again for the Jazz, and I have a feeling the Jazz and thirty other teams would be much more interested in Harden after these two games. Problem is that everyone else knows what he can do as "the man" now, so now we live with our inactivity or the inactivity of our GM.

To be honest, i think if the jazz did land harden they would not know how to use him correctly..... he would still get minutes and decent stats but he would be held back by our coaching/system and probably average around 18 pts a game, instead of the 25-30 he is capable of.

I won't be surprised if the Rockets makes the playoffs in the 5-7 range. They have a true star player in Harden, a very good distributor in Lin, a defensive minded center in Asik, and decent role players with promising rookies(especially Terrence Jones). Plus, McHale may become a decent coach down the road, even though right now he doesn't look that good as a coach. (But he doesn't seem worse than Corbin either, for instance.)

Well if Harden keeps playing like this, there will be a lot of people who would want to change their vote including me. I thought he was a very good player but he certainly is showing he can be a great player. Some people think all the Jazz have to do is talk and people will give them what they want. How does anyone know if the Jazz attempted to get him or not?
