Pacers Making Play at Millsap?

Good to be back. And, good to see that the sense-makers are still here.

The thing that hypes me up about George is his (potential) compatibility with a front court of Hayward and Burks. Plenty of play-making there, and they could defend the 1 - 3 while being an absolute match-up nightmare on the other side of the ball.

Burks
Hayward
George
Kanter
Favors

Add some vets and championships

Use Jefferson instead of Sap, and you still keep Sap, plus you might even have Collison. I like it.

For ****ing sure I'd rather send Al than I would Paul. 8 days a week. But now we are really getting into fantasy land if we weren't already...

I feel like most people on here are really underrating the value of George. I think everyone values him, but Millsap for him and Collison is insane! I have no idea what the Pacers are thinking, but if I were Larry Bird, George would be basically untouchable for now (like I said earlier). He's got great potential. Millsap, no way, but for Big Al maybe. They can absorb the contract too.

Just opinion but I think a Jefferson/Hibbert combo would do a lot more damage in the East than a Millsap/Hibbert combo.

Yes, this is a fantasy land thread where our wildest dreams are brought to life. Thanks for crushing them, dick.

I know that I am going to get some neg rep for this but this is the list of players to go in order:

Jefferson
Jefferson
Jefferson
Bell
Miles
Harris

Collison has the potential to maybe, MAYBE, break into the top half of PGs in the league in the next two years.

Paul
Rose
Williams
Rondo
Nash
Kidd
Westbrook
Lawson
Wall
Harris
Miller
Conley
Billups
Parker
Curry

Those guys are easily better players. Other guys likely to be better are Hinrich, Holiday, Nelson, Jennings, Davis, Augustin, Felton.

Then you have Collison competing against the Udrihs and Teagues of the NBA. And I didn't even mention the rookie PGs and ones yet to be drafted.

I'd avoid Collison.

Many Pacer fans feel a Hibbert/Jefferson combo as repetitive and plodding, and thus don't want it.

I would rather take Hill over Collison. I like Hill's tenacity. He doesn't back down to the superstars of the league (Miles, I am looking at you). He also seems to have a high bball IQ. He might just be the perfect fit for this growing young team as a PG.

Well sorry but actually I would rather trade Big Al for George than Millsap for Granger. I think some other people would agree

If I'm being realistic I bet this is how the convo went (if this actually happened):

Larry Bird : Yo KOC
KOC: "What the **** do you want?"
Bird: "Why the cold attitude brah?" "Just checking to see if you are still interested in Roy Hibbert. I remember you wanting to draft him but we snagged him first!"
KOC: "Yeah, I remember. We got stuck with Kosta Doufus, the scared Greek kid from Ohio"
Bird: "Lol Kosta Doufus." "Millsap for Hibbert and a protected 1st rounder"
KOC: "lolololololololololololololololol" Give me George you snarky ****"
Bird hangs up phone*

Repped if I could do it.

Jazz love granger, but he is overpaid, uses a high % of possesions to score his, and is getting old.
Hibbert has an asmatic condition and the symptoms increase at altitude.

May not be with the Pacers, however I place the odds at less than %50 that the Jazz start the season with Kanter, Jefferson, Milsap, Favors, and Okur. 96 Minutes divided 5 ways is less than 20 minutes per game.

I think KOC had a deal in place since before the draft, now just need to work out the details with the new rules.

Why did the Spurs trade him then? I like Hill as a backup combo guard, but that is it. I think the Spurs knew it too, so they decided to attempt to get a starting caliber SF in Leonard.

I just saw Jeff Hornacek in the lobby of my building. He might be moving in (I assume cause he needs a place close to the ESA), so I asked him if he had heard anything about this Millsap talk or any other trades. Basically he said they can't really even talk about trades till the CBA is official and it didn't seem like he had heard anything about this really...I was disappointed.

Indiana is our ideal trading partner, by far. Would be shocked if either Sap or Al didn't end up there by years end. They probably covet Millsap more, he is a much better fit next to Hibbert, and they can live with him being undersized at the 4 because Hibbert is a 7'2" shot blocker.

As MDAV28 said, George is probably untouchable unless we throw in the GS pick. No way right? So that leaves Granger and whatever throw ins KOC can fleece out of them. If Bird wants Paul over Al I'm definitely making him pay a hefty price that includes either Collison or a future pick. And I'm pretty sure KOC could get that out of him.

Collison and George looks alright. Millsap is the better player but he's superfluous and Jazz could use George at SF. Collison could be great in Jazz uni.

Dunno, but there's something here worth discussion.

I don't think Millsap is superfluous. He's still going to get 12 and 7 in a 6th man role.
