Phoenix Tank

No, I don't think it is. The only source I can locate is this:

Not exactly inside information and not really a proposed trade (i.e. no details about whom the Jazz might trade). Just speculation that Dragic could make the Jazz a contender and a lame closer: "Jazz management would be wise to make an offer now and allow the team to build some chemistry before the playoffs begin." Did I miss something? Are the playoffs right around the corner?
"With one of the most talented front courts in the league, this team is just one player away from being a contender in the Western Conference and Dragic could be that player." I think he must have written the article last February and accidentally reposted it.

I don't expect the Jazz to be in the bottom three or four. I think we'll land in the 5-8 spot and still wind up with an all-star caliber player. Sure it would be nice to get a Wiggins, Parker, Randle or Exum, but the next tier down from those guys isn't too shabby, either. I actually wouldn't be too disappointed with the Harrison twins.
Being in the 5th-8th worst range isn't so bad.

The draft lottery has been held 15 times under the current format (30 teams, 1000 combinations, no teams prevented from winning lottery).
* 11 times at least one pick went to 5th-8th worst
* 6 times one pick went 5th-8th worst
* 5 times two picks went 5th-8th worst
* total of 16 top 3 picks went to 5th-8th worst (out of 45 total picks)

By individual pick:
5th worst in top three - 6 times (40%, #1 three times, #2 once, #3 twice)
6th worst in top three - 6 times (40%, #1 twice, #2 three times, #3 once)
7th worst in top three - 1 time (7%, #1 once)
8th worst in top three - 3 times (20%, #1 once, #2 once, #3 once)

I am starting to hate having horny in phoenix.. I see him implementing the jazz plan and being a real horny thorn in the jazz's behind!
