What's new

Please fire Snyder and get a real coach in the summer

I simply want to say the coach and the GM they surely consult to complete and improve the roster.

It umm... it seems like an incredibly irrational and unreasonable leap of logic to assume that DL would like to replace Ingles and Johnson with actual NBA players, but won't do it because Quin doesn't want him to.

I feel silly even typing that out.

I like Quin and hope he stays for a long time. Firing coaches every other year is bad for a team just look at teams like the Raiders. Isn't it time to ask Gordon Hayward to step up he is our max money guy. Look I know everyone thinks I'm too hard on Hayward. So, I will pull back the reigns. I feel he is in a crappy situation because he isn't a top guy. I know there are some of you that think he is a number two in this league. I think you are wrong. But, he has been given the keys and he isn't doing anything to step up from my point of view. If we make the playoffs we need him, and Favors to show that they aren't scared of the big lights. That doesn't mean shooting all these weak jumpers. They need to attack the rim. The only player that I have confidence in his J is Hood. The rest should all try to attack the rim.

I didn't say this. Don't troll bro.

You assume that Quin has no word and power in the choice of the players to add in the roster.

I think a coach has a list of preferred players fitting their system of play. Then it is up to the GM to try to satisfy the coach requests, depending the ownership directives and the market availabilities.

It's not all on DL, Ugliness/losing brings out the worst in people. It also highlights the lack of effort that we're seeing on the court. especially from Favors, Gobert, Hood and Hayward. These are the leaders of this team and none of them stand up and lead by example. When was the last time you have seen the Gobert solute? Our young team was fun to watch last season because of their effort on the court. Hell, people didn't care that they lost and didn't make the playoffs. Exum and Burks can lead from the bench! Where're they at? We can all deal with losing if a young team is giving it all they have, but what we're seeing in Effort, turnovers, missed shots, defensive break downs and an overall lazy effort, is unacceptable! Time to wake up and go to work, put a little passion into your work! Just my opinion!

I'll always be a Jazz fan, but I don't have to like them right now! FRUSTRATED!

It's not just Snyder! This is the problem:

Whithey, [is] killing us in every category when they're on the court. [He is] one of our biggest problems!

Overall, good assessment. I might take exception about Burks and I think it's too early to pass judgment on Lyles. But how can you say Withey is a problem when he's not playing? In fact, he played very well when he was given the chance and I don't understand why Quinn has not been giving him minutes, especially with how inconsistent Rudy has been since coming back.

lol

So in other words, you think Quin prefers players like Chris Johnson and Joe Ingles, and that's preventing DL from getting anyone better.

Why don't you just admit that you're butt hurt over how Quin handled Kanter, and so you're reaching up your *** for reasons to call him a bad coach.

Quin had other players in his list but he settled with Ingles and Chris Johnson too.

Anyway I blame DL more than Quin, but Quin isn't totally blameless either. He could have demanded some players more suited to his offensive system, in little words sharpshooters.

Quin handled Kanter normally. It was Corbin that mishandled Kanter, Hayward and Burks.

I think Hayward is best served the next couple years continuing to lift his *** off but at the same time lose a little weight. If he could shed 5-8 pounds and maintain his strength, I think it would make all the difference in his game tbh. Lateral quickness on d. Penetrating. In three open court. In so many ways.

I don't mind firing Quin as long as we get Messina.

This is an ironic post coming from you. Mr. I Drink Beer At The Bowling Alley From The Pitcher.

Still want him fired?

Name me three "sharpshooters" who were attainable this past off-season.

Here in NY our boys keep getting instruction on running The Triangle. How's that working?
At least Quin is teaching your boys this move in practice:

Not sure how many more wins another coach could get out of the roster QS has (counting all the injuries). Sure, Pops and other veteran coaches could run better plays out of timeouts, might make some other strategic decisions to squeeze a few more points out of the roster. But Utah's weaknesses are generally what coaches CAN'T fix: missed FT's, missed open shots. It's roster-driven. DL needs to provide Quin with better backups. Existing players need to make their shots (or be replaced).

What's your point? The Knicks are a dumpster fire at 28-40 despite having a "superstar" in Carmelo. Utah - with all their injuries - is 4 1/2 games better at 32-35. How long before the Knicks fire Jackson and bring back Thomas?

Boy, you sure aren't up on current events. Haven't you heard that this guy is our coach for next season?

Yup, Phil Jackson is the New York Knicks head coach starting this summer. He will be just doing home games and close road games (Boston, Philly, Brooklyn), but 50 games a year is enough to make us the odds on favorites to win it all. Plus every big free agent will want to come here and play for Phil. Dynasty. Bulls won six with Phil, Lakers won five with Phil...Knicks are looking at nine.

No joke, word is Phil will be head coach for all practices and game coach for all home games.

Rule in basketball is a good coach is capable of getting his team five wins.

Now you watch the Jazz season more than I do. Ask yourself, did Quin get this Jazz team five wins they shouldn't have had? I know last night against the Cavs that win was a coach's win. Come up with four more examples and you'll see that you have a fine coach in Quin Snyder.
