Pokemon Go

you two should get a room..seriously.

Just hatched another 10 km egg...606 eevee... evolved into 1486 Flareon. And gave enough candy to power up my Vaporeon to 1553. And I am level 21 now!

Has anyone experienced any nests so far? The Veterans Park in my city has gone from Gastly to Seel. Literally can catch 5-7 every night it goes on.

There was one with Growlithes in Layton behind the mall (toward the side where the movie theaters are). We drove through one night and saw 3 pop up at once. So we stopped and all 5 of us in the car caught at least 7 or 8 that night. We could reliably catch them there after that for about a week before it stopped. Mostly lower level, like in the 400-500 range, and lower. But I did catch one I have that would eventually top out at 2200+. I would really like to know the logic and probabilities behind these things.

Oh and there appears to be almost nothing but ratatas in my neighborhood. I mean I know they are generally the most common, but within about 3 blocks of my house all around (we walked it, a lot, to hatch eggs and hit pokestops), we would see upwards of 20 ratatas for any other single pokemon we might find. I did end up with a raticate that topped out just under 1000 but still it would be nice to see some variety.

Not sure if it qualifies as a nest but the other night for some reason we were catching magikarp like crazy behind (to the east) of temple square. I mean among the 5 of us we caught maybe 25, not very evenly spread out (I caught 4), but still that is a TON. I have never seen magikarp in those numbers. I am a lot closer to evolving mine now, which is cool.

You must live in a suburban area. If you live in the burbs or in a rural area you won't get **** but rats and birds.

Yeah I know they are the most common in suburban areas, but this is like an infestation. Around where my son lives we get 4-6 rats per other things, where my parents live maybe a few more than that, but the path I walk near my own house the time I counted I ran into 26 in a row before seeing another poke type. Even pidgies. It's nuts.

There is a ton of Pidgey and Rattata in my neighborhood. Best thing to do to find new Pokemon is popping some lures into Pokestops.

Well, I was visiting Seattle for couple days - completely different pokemon grounds than Calgary. Tons of magikarp, horsea, seel, tentacool, krabby, shellder, poliwag, psyduck and goldeen.

Anybody still playing? Second gens and new evolutions are available now! Not sure yet if it is true but names for Umbreon and Espeon are suppose to be Tamao and Sakura.

funny, I just heard something on the news about this, I'll try to find a link (not that anybody cares, but anyhow) - - it was something about some cities passing ordinances requiring app developers to pay a fee to the city for permission to use its landmarks in their VR apps to help cover costs that result from increased traffic

I never did play, and I don't think I ever saw anybody playing it either.

lucky me, I found a link

https://www.theverge.com/2017/2/7/14537680/pokemon-go-milwaukee-county-parks-niantic-banned-permits

A new ordinance approved by the Milwaukee County Board will require developers of “location-based augmented reality games” like Pokémon Go to get a permit before including public county park locations in their games, per a report from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

The news comes at the end of a process that began last summer, when the Milwaukee County Parks department filed a request to Niantic to follow local county ordinances and receive an event permit after an onrush of eager pokémon trainers swarmed Lake Park. That led to a public meeting in September where park supervisor Sheldon Wasserman advocated that the county sue Niantic for “running an event in the park without a permit," causing what he described to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel as “thousands of dollars” of damage to the parks. During the summer, at the height of the mobile ARG’s popularity, local law enforcement officers distributed hundreds of citations to players for violating ordinances against littering and park opening hours.
