Pre-draft workouts

Hopefully it's not the trading back option and missing out on a real talent.
DL said extended pool of consideration was in a good way, like... they like that many players, rather than they don't like anyone and are wondering between 12 players who they hate the least.

I'd rather have a Mitchell vs Hood + Neto is what I'm saying.

Great last workout coming in, Melton is a defensive stud, I love Evans, and Musa at least needs a look.

Haven't really followed this thread, they ever get my man Clark in?

Deng and Ingram for Burks and Bradley. That clears about 11M in cap room for the Lakers this year. 16M next.

Who does it?

Isn’t Ingram what we need? A super long 3/stretch 4? Doesn’t he fit in with the timeline for our team?

Workout experts - could you confirm whether we've had Kevin Huerter or Chandler Hutchinson in for a workout? They're #21 and #22 on the Ringer Mock.. would be really strange if we haven't had those guys in this close to the draft.

We haven't had either one in for a workout. Huerter was scheduled but had to cancel, possibly due to his hand. Hutchinson hasn't done very many workouts. It's been reported for a while that Hutchinson got a promise from someone in the first round so I think he shut down workouts after that happened.

Walt Perrin has done tremendous job arranging all those workouts. This is yet another one with all players being draftable and 4 of them with a chance at a 1st round selection.

Any chance the Jazz could still select him even though the Jazz didn't bring him for a workout. Looking at www.nbadraft.net he seems to be moving up in the 2nd round around 33 or 34 overall.

There's always a chance. They didn't work Exum out before drafting him and I don't think they worked Hood out either.

The Ringer had Huerter at #21 and Hutchinson at #22, right smack in our pick's range.. and yet we have not had them in.

Not sure you can call that a 'tremendous' job... decent job, maybe, but I can't give him full marks.

We had a workout arranged with Huerter but he got injured and pulled out. Hutchison hasn't worked out for anybody since he supposedly got a promise at the combine, so I don't know how you can blame Walt for not getting him.

Even if he couldn't get them for other reasons, I don't think you realize how hard it is to arrange all those players being available at the same time and being able to match them against players that make sense. You will never get everybody you wanted to get for a workout. Almost every workout Walt has arranged has been great when you look at the names and the matchup fits.

Lol.
You can only get in the players who want to visit. If Hutchison and Huerter didn't want to visit, F them and move on. You save the hassle of players who don't want to play in Utah and would arrive with a bad attitude.
