Predict the Rudy Gobert trade

If you don’t have Rudy, you don’t get to spend that same money on Giannis. Depending on your situation, you might not got to spend that money at all. For a team like ATL, you will lucky to spend 45 million on Capela and Collins. The difference between Rudy and those two is that Rudy is going to deliver you 55 wins and make you a threat in the east. With Collins and Capela you’re a play in team.

For teams like ATL and CHO Rudy would solidly them as playoff teams and probably put them near the top of the east too. For DAL, CHI, TOR it takes them to the next level which is difficult for them to do otherwise. Rudy may be undersold around the league….but miss me with those trades that bring back the same salary and marginal future value.

I just gave you a list of guys similar and they all declined. That is 3-4 years from now is when he’s getting paid that massive amount I don’t think you understand that.
On your list, one was similar, and he had his best years at 30-34. Try again.

Rudy makes Atlanta a 55-win team? Really?

Best years huh? Best years rebounding that’s it. Defensively he was no where near his best years. That’s the entire point.

TRY AGAIN.

Do you guys realize Rudy’s 44M and 47M contract days are 3 and 4 years away? I don’t think you understand that.

@Elizah Huge

Man. You have to stop. These guys will just go around in circles making excuses for Rudy Gobert.
On defense, they'll say he's the only one who is good and the only one who tries. They'll even say he's one of the best defenders of all time, etc.
On offense, they'll say he's worth his contract because he's an elite screen setter and finisher at the rim.

Rudy ain't worth his contract unless your goal is to make the playoffs and not advance. He doesn't dominate in the playoffs. Ever. Our offense, which is built around those screens, breaks down every postseason. The guy he's defending always seems to have career performances, but it's everybody else's fault.

They make up as many excuses for Rudy as they do attacks for Don. Such a fickle fanbase. Save your time.

Mutombo was all star at age 30, 31, 33, 34, 35.
Mutombo was All NBA at age 31, 33, 34
Mutombo was DPOY at age 30, 31 and 33
Mutombo was NBA All-D team at ages - 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35

No idea what you are talking about.

Because unathletic guys can just stand there and get rebounds in the NBA? Do you really believe that?

Mutombo had pretty good numbers on blocks and steals through age 34, and his free throw percentage kept rising. He was still a force in the NBA.

I have no doubt Rudy could average 14/12 at age 32 and 33. If you want to pay 44M and 47M for an offensively limited player who averages that I don’t know what to tell you. That’s 1/3 of your ****ing cap.

He makes us 50-55 win team. Why wouldn't he make Atlanta that?

We won 49 games this year. Their supporting cast will not be as good as ours was here. Their depth will not be as good. What has happened to your basketball knowledge? It’s probably still there but your irrational love for Rudy is hurting it.

Rudy on ATL absolutely should be a 55 win team…especially in the east. They have a better roster than the Jazz. The median expectation for this Jazz team should be about 55 if Rudy was returning. Should be the same for the Hawks.

This trade would effectively switch the positions of the franchises. It’s favorable for the Hawks because Trae doesn’t want to leave and they have good young wings around their duo and didn’t trade all their picks dumping contracts.

The Hawks, like many other teams, will not have cap space going forward. They can’t just sign a supermax player of their choice. Given the choice between two solid $20M players and Rudy, Rudy is almost always going to deliver more value. The Hawks are just one example, but you go down the list of rumored teams and there’s just not easy ways for them to get a better player than Rudy.

How will they have a better roster than us when they will have to give us 2/3 of their starters for Rudy?

Young
Bogdanovic
Huerter
Okongwu
Gobert

Zero depth. That’s better than our roster now?

True. We have no players that dominate in the playoffs, ever, although they sometimes dominate one side of the court or the other briefly.

Lol you are a clown. We have a player who is top-5 in PPG in playoffs history but yeah we don’t have anyone who dominates ever.

You guys are weird as ****.

People are telling me we are going to take Atlanta’s 2nd and 3rd leading scorers, their starting center so in total three starters then replace them with Gobert and they will go from 43 wins to 55 wins?

Yeah, ok lmao.

I mean, when you leave out Hunter, Wright, Gallo yeah their depth isn’t looking hot. Any team without 3 of their players will have thin depth. The Hawks play in the East and they also have all their picks plus extra to make moves. Much better spot than the Jazz are in. They’d likely be a top 3 offense again and Rudy would instantly make them a top 10 defense.
