Predict what the Jazz do before July 1st

Something has to happen. Nearly $15 million in free money, and it all goes kaput on July 1st. Lindsey has said they will use it, and obviously it would be a huge fail not too.


So what do you think? Is there any conversation with Haywards camp? If you feel confident about his return you could give up Exum for Bledsoe or Millsap and make a run. If he's leaving then those moves make no sense.

I don't know this ish. So you guys tell me what to think.
 
Based on the recent news that Exum looks phenomenal, I'm wondering if Lindsey rolls the dice with him starting at the 1 next year. Of course, the bigger roll is therefore letting Hill walk which could mean Hayward does too.

I think it's more likely than not. The only way we're taking back 10+ million in salary is if we're getting a George or Love. No salary traded for middling talent. We may land small contract like Beverly but unless it's something big I absolutely do not see us moving for a mid level guy by absorbing salary. If we resign all three top free agents then we're over the LT if we can't find a taker for Burks (I don't think we can).
 
I think we make a move of some kind. I don't know exactly what it will be, but I do think we make a move.
 
Jazz trade something for a back up PG. Rubio/Beverly/Joseph...

Mack, Neto and Withey are gone. Jazz drop Diaw of needed.

They re-sign Hayward and Ingles. Then they manage to go over the cap and sign Hill (bird rights)

Gobert/Bradley
Favors/Diaw/Bolomboy
Hayward/JJ/Ingles
Hood/Mitchell/Burks
Hill/Beverly(Joseph)/Exum.

Then 2 of the 2 way contracts. Our 2nd rounder and Jack Cooley (he's on the Jazz D league team again)maybe?
 
I think Mitchell will be trade bait for us to acquire a veteran point guard. Either him or exum we are going to lose just to acquire that piece. Jazz are on the hunt and want to keep Hayward, Hayward isn't going to wait around for another point guard with "promised potential"

I think if they are confident Hayward is returning they might do nothing. If they think Hayward is going to leave it it's a chance unless they upgrade the roster I expect them to do that. If they are sure Hayward is gone that probably make smaller moves.

As far as staying still I could see an argument for that. If this team is healthy and players keep developing we could be really good with just that.
 
I'll also say that Mitchell will have a more successful career than exum. I just don't see any reliable style coming out from exum when he's got the ball. He just runs and hopes for a cutter, open man, or open lane.

The eye test is obvious with mitchell. He not only has the tools and body in his arsenal, but the intelligence. He dribbles the ball so he could go any direction while also keeping and open eye for the right play.

Pretty premature to say but I only see him getting better in the nba with more spacing.

I believe FA doesn't start til 7/6 this year btw.
